Apart from this, he has also carved out his space in other social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram. Best known for his light-hearted comedic sketches and videos, Kai recently shook the internet when he announced that he had broken up with his girlfriend, Gabrielle "Gigi" Alayah. While some people think that their split was caused by Gabrielle allegedly cheating on the streamer, others dug up an old video where her mother accused Kai Cenat of turning her daughter against her.
Twitch streamer, Kai Cenat found himself in the midst of controversy some time back when he was still in a relationship with influencer and content creator, Gabrielle “Gigi” Alayah. Allegedly, the storm started when Gigi posted a YouTube video in which she opened up about how she felt emotionally neglected as a child. For those unaware, she grew up in an affluent household in Louisiana. Her parents always fulfilled her materialistic needs and showed her only the best lifestyle. However, despite this, she felt that she was missing the “feeling of true love.” According to Gabrielle, this feeling is essential for any child to open up more to their parents in any given situation.
When Ashlee Monroe, Gabrielle Alayah's mother, caught wind of the things that her daughter had said, she quickly expressed feeling hurt and broken by her comments. In the viral Instagram clip, Ashlee can be seen wiping her tears and recounting how she put in so much effort to raise her child with barely any assistance from Gabrielle's father.
After passionately defending her work as a parent, she moved on to accuse Kai Cenat of driving a rift between her and her daughter. She criticised him for prying into her past and forcing Gabrielle to step up for the sake of her public image. In the video, Ashlee can be heard saying:
"Gabrielle you know you don't want me to post the stuff you was doing and I won't. Mr. Kai Cenat, you don't know my baby, the woman that you in love with that's me, that's me shining through her...Mr. Cenat said he did his research on me and her bestfriend (Brooklyn)?, he told my baby that if she hang out with me or her best friend, her reputation would be ruined. He said that he did his background on us..."
Ashlee further claimed that Gabrielle had completely changed ever since she started dating Kai Cenat. Her change was so prominent that Ashlee could no longer recognise her daughter. She also revealed that in the time that Gabrielle and Kai had been together, the streamer did not reach out to her even once to have a conversation with her. She said:
“I don't recognise her. Kai Cenat…All you do is sit down with women of different reputations...all you do is sit down with rappers of different reputations. You never thought to sit down over a glass of water with me?”
Soon after her mother's almost 20-minute-long emotional video went viral on different social media platforms, Gabrielle Alayah took it upon herself to address the accusations. At the time, she shared a horde of statements on her Instagram Stories to clarify the same. Gabrielle said that all the words that her mother spoke were the result of her having a mental breakdown.
She claimed that she has never shared anything on social media when it comes to her family because she considers it a negative platform. She further dismissed her mother's allegations, stating that not only Kai Cenat but no one else has control over her life. To quote her exact words:
"This lady has said hurtful things to me forever and just when I thought being grown and setting boundaries was my escape she still finds a way to effect me, I still won't get on here and bash her but the responsibilities I've had has always been beyond my means I was even told they were my obligation still to this day when she calls me for help. I never tell her no, she told me she thinks we never had a good relationship cause I don't look like her."
