Sheree Zampino, the ex-wife of Will Smith, is hogging the limelight as she is all set to fight a legal battle against Bilaal Salaam. Yes, you read it right. Sheree alleged that Bilaal, the former associate of Will, has spread vicious lies about her sex life in a recent conversation. According to a report by TMZ, Sheree is all set to sue Bilaal for more than USD 1 million in damages.
In her lawsuit, Sheree alleged that Bilaal used to target her ex-husband, Will and his estranged wife, Jade Pinkett Smith, and now he has shifted his focus to her. For the unversed, Sheree was married to Will and also shares a son named Trey Smith with him. While Will had plans to meet Jade, destiny had a different plan: he met Sheree and got married in their 20s. Will Smith was completely awestruck after watching Jade Pinkett in an episode of the TV sitcom, A Different World. While Will was planning to meet Jade and arrange for a set visit through his Fresh Prince co-star, Alfonso Ribeiro, destiny had other plans in store back then. In 1991, the Oscar-winning actor accidentally met Sheree Zampino, who had visited the sets of A Different World to meet her friend and show writer, Orlando Jones, who was supposed to introduce Will to Jada.
One year after the accidental meetup, Will and Sheree got married. In the same year, the couple was blessed with their first child, a son named Trey Smith. However, Will and Sheree’s seemingly happy marriage hit a rough patch after three years of their wedding. In 1995, on Valentine’s Day, Sheree filed for divorce from Will. At the time, Sheree claimed that she no longer loved the actor. By the end of 1995, they were officially divorced.
Many years later, in 2016, Sheree revealed what led to their split. Sharing a video, Sheree stated that their marriage didn’t work as they were too young. She mentioned that marriage is a huge responsibility. She highlighted that, back then, as they were both too young, their marriage was not easy.
Back in 2016, a rumour spread like wildfire after Alexis Arquette claimed in a video that Will cheated on his then-wife, Sheree. In the clip, Alexis mentioned that Sheree caught Will red-handed with his then-manager, Benny Medina. In the same video, Alexis alleged that Will refused to do a kissing scene with another male actor during the filming of Six Degrees of Separation.
Putting all rumours to rest, Sheree made a detailed video on Facebook explaining that infidelity was never a reason behind their split. Sheree highlighted that as she was unhappy in her marriage with Will, they parted ways. She added that her ex-husband, was straight in 1992 and was also straight in 2016.
In the same video, Sheree revealed that Will’s super stardom was one of the reasons behind parting ways. Sheree shared that when Will was rising to fame, she felt insecure. Later, in a candid interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Sheree opened up about the following. She said:
"I think at that point in time with Will's career taking off — to start now making movies, of course, he had the TV show, the rapping — he didn't have the capacity to give me what I needed. ... I didn't feel like a team."
Recently, Bilaal Salaam sat for a candid conversation with Tasha K on his Unwine with Tasha K series. Sheree claimed in her lawsuit that Bilaal made false, derogatory comments about her during the conversation on Unwine with Tasha K. Sheree mentioned in the lawsuit that Bilaal claimed she was "screwing everybody in Hollywood." He also repeatedly called her "whore" during the conversation. Sheree alleged that these statements are completely untrue and damaged her reputation. Thus, she is seeking compensatory damages in excess of USD 1 million.
