What is The Four Seasons Season 2 about?

After Season 1 ended with unexpected developments, including 'Nick' filing for divorce from 'Anne' and dating a much younger, 'Ginny'. However, the real kicker came when he passed away in a car accident, and his friends and 'Anne' soon found out that 'Ginny' was pregnant with his child. Season 2 begins with 'Ginny' and her group of friends taking a trip to upstate scatter 'Nick's' ashes.

After a series of failed attempts at it, viewers finally learn that 'Kate' and 'Jack' are still having marital issues while 'Claude' and 'Danny' are at odds about having a kid. Another kicker comes when it is revealed that since 'Nick' and 'Anne's' divorce was not finalised, 'Ginny' won't be getting any child support.

Will 'Kate' and 'Jack' survive the storm in their marriage?

Things get hard for 'Kate' and 'Jack' as the latter's unwavering commitment to keeping the group together starts to feel depressing. While priorities are shifting, his "wallowing" strikes a nerve with 'Kate', causing tension in their marriage. That is, until she finds out that his issues run deeper and 'Jack' has been smoking weed to deal with his anxiety. 'Kate' further gets upset when her dream of starting a bed and breakfast is crushed after 'Danny' decides to move to Italy.

However, while visiting him and 'Claude', 'Kate' encourages 'Jack' to run a marathon to "turn this year around" and become "a new man." But as she helps him, 'Jake' points out, "Something's lurking, you wouldn't be so obsessed with trying to fix me if there wasn't something eating you up too." This leads to a candid moment between the two, with 'Kate' sharing her insecurities. Nonetheless, the biggest question remains: will their marriage survive all that, and does she still love him? Well, according to Fey:

"She does. Her stuff is all her own stuff. We get to know a little tiny bit more about (her insecurities). We find out a tiny bit about how she grew up, and maybe why she's afraid of big feelings."

Can 'Danny' and 'Claude' agree on parenthood?

'Danny' and 'Claude' also go through a roller coaster of emotions about parenthood as they fail to agree on it. However, they eventually move to Italy, where 'Claude' is happy to be around his family, while 'Danny' faces his own issues despite wanting to make things work for his husband. Nonetheless, while it might look like 'Claude' is in control, he is not, and as Calvani says, "He's trying to fill the void of thinking he's not enough." By the end, 'Danny' returns to the US when his mother is hospitalised, and refuses to move to Italy, and 'Marco' makes an executive decision to return to the US and help him take care of his mom.

'Anne' and 'Ginny' to turn a new leaf for the baby?

After 'Nick's' death, 'Anne' begins her self-discovery journey. She reluctantly offers 'Ginny' and her baby a place to stay, while the latter begins "lying to herself" that she can handle her pregnancy all on her own, says Henningsen. She soon embraces the help from the friend group and finds a close friend in 'Anne', who becomes a little too hands-on with 'Ginny's' baby, while her friends encourage her to meet new people. By the end, 'Anne' forces 'Ginny' to move out of her house so that she can have her own life with her baby and have room to grow, while she decides to stay in Italy with 'Claude' and 'Danny'.

Will there be The Four Seasons Season 3?

While Netflix has not yet renewed The Four Seasons for Season 3, the cast and creators are hopeful. Wigfield says that with the "romantic cliffhanger," she would love to see 'Anne' have "a real love story that doesn't go wrong right away." They also have ideas and "conversations that are interesting for all the characters that we hope we get to do more."
