On November 2, 2026, Shafaq Naaz took to her Instagram handle to share a video. In the video, the Chidiya Ghar actress hits back at trolls who criticised her for celebrating Karwa Chauth with her husband, Zeeshan. She said she recently posted pictures of herself wearing a red saree and sindoor while celebrating Karwa Chauth with her husband. She called the pictures 'decent' and said she was shocked to face trolls and abuse. She said:
"Honestly, I felt those were decent pictures, and suddenly, I am seeing this abuse, trolling, and so much disrespect from everyone in my comment section. And apparently, if you apply sindoor, your religion gets converted."
Shafaq further went on to clarify that her husband, Zeeshan, is a Muslim. She explained that sporting sindoor does not change her religion. She then spoke about the cultural diversity that India has. She shared that in any holy book, it is written that one must respect other people’s religion. She mentioned nobody should disrespect the other person’s faith. She added that religion is a personal belief. She said:
"I will do whatever I can in my capacity and what I want to do. You should not force, and you should not judge. And if you really want to judge, if you don’t like my belief, then don’t follow me. Leave me. I don’t have any problem. I am happy. I applied sindoor; I don’t remain a Muslim anymore? Is my religion so halka? Kya religion itna halka hai?"
Further, in the video, the Chidiya Ghar actress shared her fascination with different festivals. She mentioned that she has done a lot of mythological shows, including Mahabharat and has always been very fascinated by it. She said that she respects every culture and every person. She stated that her religion taught her to respect everyone, not disrespect them. She called everyone equal.

She said that it’s okay if people unfollow her on Instagram. It is worth mentioning that Shafaq has been very vocal about sharing her thoughts and is known for speaking her mind.
