A look at Sandra Bullock's complete dating history, which includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and more amid her reunion with Nichole Kidman in 'Practical Magic 2.'
Sandra Bullock is one of the most beloved American actresses and film producers. She made her acting debut in 1987 with a minor role in the thriller, Hangmen. With time, she became one of the top actresses in Hollywood. Some of her most notable films include The Proposal, Ocean's 8, Speed, Gravity, and The Lost City.
At present, Sandra is hogging the spotlight for reuniting with Nicole Kidman for the first time in 28 years. For the unversed, the duo will reprise their iconic roles as the ‘Owen’ sisters in Practical Magic 2, whose teaser dropped a while ago, on April 20, 2026. With the focus on Sandra's professional life, have you ever wondered about her personal life? If yes, let's take a look at Sandra Bullock's complete dating history.
According to US Weekly, Sandra Bullock and Tate Donovan met for the first time while filming the 1992 movie, Love Potion No. 9. After falling for each other, the duo went on to date for 3 years and even got engaged at one point, as per the publication. Although their relationship did not last, Sandra told Vanity Fair, a year after they parted ways, that she used to adore Tate a lot. She said:
"It's like they say, there's one person in your life, and Tate and I are closer than any two people I've ever experienced in my life. There's nobody that means more to me, and I know for a fact that I mean the most to him in that certain way."
Many might not be aware that Sandra Bullock used to date the former Dallas Cowboys star, Troy Aikman, back in 1995. This is because they had a really brief romance and kept their relationship as low-key as possible. Though it seems like Sandra and Troy reunited for the second time years later, in 2015, after the former's divorce from Jesse James.
Both Sandra and Matthew starred in A Time to Kill, and it is believed that sparks flew between them while filming. The duo dated from 1996 to 1998 but kept their relationship on the down low. After Sandra and Matthew split up, they surprisingly decided to remain friends. In a 2003 interview with Cosmopolitan, Sandra revealed that she felt very cared for by Matthew. She even claimed that no matter where both of them were in life, even if Matthew got married, they would still remain close.
Sandra and Bob Schneider had a short and sweet relationship from 1999 to 2001. According to Cosmopolitan, their relationship was also very chill. In 2000, the actress told Cinema.com, “As celebrities go, Bob and I have a very low-key relationship. It's something I learned through trial and error.”
Like many of her previous relationships, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Gosling also started dating thanks to a movie that they filmed together. The movie in question was called Murder by Numbers. At the time, Sandra told Cosmopolitan that while they were friends, it would be a lie to say they were just friends. Sandra and Ryan dated from 2002 to 2003. Years later, during a 2011 interview with The Times, Ryan called Sandra one of the “greatest girlfriends of all time.”
If reports are believed to be true, Sandra crossed paths with Jesse James, the West Coast Choppers founder, while she was touring his show, Monster Garage. After dating for a while, the pair tied the knot in July 2005. However, in March 2010, Jesse was accused of infidelity with multiple women. A few months after this, and after he sought treatment at a rehabilitation facility, Sandra and Jesse finalised their divorce in June 2010. While speaking with the Daily Mail in 2017, Jesse confessed:
“Yeah, I did cheat on my wife, yeah. I stood up and took accountability for it and apologised. And that's end of story.”
While we do not know for sure whether Sandra and Captain America star, Chris Evans, dated, the duo were romantically linked back in 2014. At the time, a source close to the pair told Us Weekly that Chris was “pursuing Sandra.” In June 2014, Sandra cracked a joke about their connection while speaking to Entertainment Tonight. She said:
“We’ve since married, and it started breaking apart, so we separated. We filed for divorce, and I hope everyone can respect our privacy. But we’re going to remain friends and share responsibility of the farm animals we’ve taken on because you just can’t abandon the animals.”
Sandra Bullock met her second husband, Bryan Randall, in 2015. They were known for keeping their relationship private. However, Sandra did open up about her husband a few times over the years. For instance, during a conversation with Red Talk Table in 2021, the actress said that Bryan was the example she would want her children to have, and that even though they say things differently, they mean the same thing. Their relationship came to an end in 2023, when Bryan passed away after a private battle with ALS.
