In a recent conversation, Saif Ali Khan opened up about his marriage with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Read on to know what he said.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the power couple of B-Town, completed 13 years of marriage on October 16, 2025. Over the years, the duo has had a fair share of ups and downs in their personal life. Last year, in January 2025, the Bollywood actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after he was attacked in his Mumbai residence. Recalling the scary incident, at the end of the year, Kareena called 2025 a difficult year for their family. In a recent interview, Saif reflected on his marriage with Kareena.
Recently, Saif Ali Khan sat for a conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, All About Her. During the conversation, Saif reflected on his marriage with Kareena Kapoor Khan. He called himself lucky for being in a stable and fulfilling marriage. The Agent Vinod actor admitted that in his earlier relationships, he was not balanced or satisfying. Before giving love another chance, Saif was married to Amrita Singh and the couple got divorced in 2014. He highlighted that growing older brought him more clarity about relationships. He credited his wife, Kareena, for her support. He was quoted as saying:
"I am very lucky that my wife and I have been on the same page. Relationship-wise, I have not always been lucky or settled or super happy, but I am today for various reasons, my maturity, as well as the kindness and understanding of my partner."
In the same conversation, Saif Ali Khan got candid about emotional dependency in relationships. The Jewel Thief actor shared that a person could be emotionally needy, and it depends on how they were raised by their parents. He mentioned that often a partner helps deal with those emotional issues. He highlighted that a relationship should have a certain amount of love and attention. He added that if two partners have affection and intimacy in their relationship, then only they can share it with their kids. He was quoted as saying:
"I can be emotionally needy, but it depends ... because of the conditioning and the relationship we had with our parents. In a relationship, sometimes your partner helps deal with those issues. If I am confident and happy in the space I am in, then I am not needy. But I still like a certain amount of attention and affection; otherwise, why am I here? I find myself happy in a relationship where both of us want a little bit more. There has to be a certain level of affection, intimacy, something special about the two of you being together, and then you can share that with kids."
As per reports, Saif Ali Khan was born on August 16, 1970. He is currently 55. On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor Khan was reportedly born on September 21, 1980. She is currently 45. If the reports are believed to be true, then the couple share a huge age gap of 10 years. In a past interview with The Indian Express, the Jab We Met actress revealed that she is 10 years younger than her husband, Saif. During the conversation, Kareena mentioned that although they share a significant age gap, it never mattered in their relationship. She was quoted as saying:
"When has age ever mattered? He is hotter than ever. I am happy I am 10 years younger; he should be worried. No one would say he has turned 53. Age does not matter, what matters is respect and love and the fact that we have fun with each other."
