Post the tragic death of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, their adopted daughter, Tracy Reiner, shared the first statement in the media.
The renowned filmmaker, Rob Reiner, and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead on December 14, 2025, in mysterious condition at their residence in Brentwood, Los Angeles. It is termed as a potential murderer, and it is Rob and Michele's son, who is under the radar. Amidst it, Rob Renier's adopted daughter opened up about her parents' passing.
Shortly after Hollywood director, Rob Reiner was found dead with his second wife, his daughter, Tracy Reiner (adopted daughter of his late ex-wife, Penny Marshal), expressed her shock. She even stated that he had met her father just one day earlier. She stated that she comes from the greatest family legacy, and she is still in shock. In an interaction with NBC News, Tracy said:
"I came from the greatest family ever. I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock."
Family members were the first to confirm the couple's passing. In a statement made to Variety, family expressed their pain at the sudden loss and requested privacy during this difficult time. As per the Los Angeles Police Department, officers found out about the death at the Reiners' home at around 4 p.m. on December 14, 2025, where they found two deceased individuals. Officials said:
"The Robbery Homicide Division responded to the residence, which has been identified as the home of Rob Reiner. At this time, no further details are available as this is an ongoing RHD investigation, into an apparent homicide."
Meanwhile, Deputy Police Chief Alan Hamilton informed the media that the death investigation would take place throughout the evening. However, the police were not able to identify the suspect. He confirmed that the entire family would be questioned about the dual murder.
On December 14, 2025, at around 3:30 p.m. local, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAPD) received an urgent medical call at the Reiners’ Brentwood residence. When the police arrived, what they saw was a gruesome murder of two individuals. They were later confirmed to be the 78-year-old, Rob Reiner and his 68-year-old wife, Michele Singer. As per the officers, Rob and Michele had injury marks, and something was stabbed on their bodies. The LAPD immediately requested a homicide investigation under the robbery-homicide division.
However, the police are not making any direct statements because the investigation, as the investigation is still ongoing. However, detectives continue to collect evidence and are also engaged in interviewing potential witnesses or leads related to the shocking death of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer. However, the focus soon shifted to the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner. As per sources, Nick is being interrogated by police, and they think he is the man behind the dual murder. So far, no official arrest has been made, and the authorities have not yet confirmed or made any statement that their son is considered to be a suspect.
Earlier, in 2016 interview with BUILD Series, Nick talked about how the process of shooting for Being Charlie helped them bond after they struggled to connect when he was a child. Nick highlighted the struggle and said:
"It really clicked for me because we didn’t bond a lot as a kid. He really liked baseball, I liked basketball, and he could watch that with my brother — baseball — but I just, when I saw him do that, it was something that I’m interested in, I was like, ‘Wow, he really knows a lot’ and it made me feel closer to him."
For Nick, life wasn't easy as his father was a well-known name. Nick was a middle child, and he found it difficult to have a steady relationship with his father during his childhood. Rob had established himself as a prominent Hollywood personality.
