The broadcast featured him in an injured state as he apparently cut himself with a knife and was hospitalized. As of November 2, 2026, Perez is in his home, resting and recovering. His mother started a GoFundMe to take care of him and his kids while he takes a break from work. This move was criticized by Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan.
Michael slammed 48-year-old Perez, saying that he doesn't deserve the GoFundMe aid because of the 'horrible' things he said about numerous celebrities. Notably, the YouTuber once played a big role in spreading rumors that Lindsay Lohan was involved in an affair at 17 with an older man and that she had contracted HIV.
Perez Hilton has repeatedly attacked Lindsay Lohan and her family while chasing clout. Her father, Michael Lohan has still not been able to move past the humiliation Perez made his family go through. Michael recently slammed his family's launch of a GoFundMe , seeking financial support. Amid his lashing out at Perez's 'pathetic' fundraising attempt, their long-standing feud has resurfaced.
Perez's jokes about the Lohan family went too far when he supported the character assassination of a young Lindsay Lohan. In 2010, when she was in her early 20s, a social media user shared an alleged screenshot of an X (formerly Twitter) post, where he was seen claiming that Lindsay was HIV positive and once had an underage fling with record mogul Tommy Mottola. Notably, the picture was later reported to be fabricated.
Perez Hilton might not have started the controversy, but he certainly brought it immense attention by reposting it. Heightening the buzz around the rumors, Perez shared an article titled, "Lindsay Lohan has AIDS????" It greatly enraged the actress' father, who spoke directly to The Post to clarify the rumors about his alleged post about his daughter. Michael said that he never tweeted anything like that and was confused about the rumor's origin. In his words:
"I never put any of that stuff up there. I don't know where it came from."
Michael Lohan added that he suspected Perez Hilton himself started the speculation by posting from another account. Michael defended his daughter, saying the blogger must have spread the falsehood regarding her and Tommy Mottola's affair because Perez himself wanted to sleep with Tommy. Asking the YouTuber to leave them alone, Lindsay's father stated:
"you [Perez Hilton] are also the one who wishes you slept with Moguls! leave us alone. Or are you that obsessed?!...for all I (we) know, you hack accounts and make most of this stuff up yourself, you sausage jockey.'"
Michael Lohan reacted to Perez Hilton's recent alleged suicide attempt and hospitalization amid a mental health crisis during his November 2026 appearance on Light. Tan. Up. podcast. Saying that whatever the YouTuber was going through was a result of his own past deed, he said, "I have one word for him: Karma. How's that? What goes around, comes around."
Claiming that Perez said "a lot of horrible things about people," Michael called out the GoFundMe started by his family to raise his kids "pathetic." He added, "To use something like that, for financial gain, is beyond disgusting. And I don't dislike him, I pity him."
