The statement also offered the first positive news since Hilton was taken to the hospital, saying, "We have also been able to confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope."

The recent health scare escalated during a TikTok livestream from Hilton's Miami home. Viewers were alarmed when he appeared to harm himself. He cut himself across the body, shouting "This is what you wanted" the whole time. Graphic images from the broadcast soon found their way to social media, and several viewers called emergency services.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies immediately responded to Hilton's residence after receiving numerous reports. The officials prioritized de-escalation techniques while responding to what they described as a mental health crisis. Hilton was later safely transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical care.

In an Instagram update, co-host Chris Booker said no decision has yet been made about the future of the iHeart podcast or its Patreon content.
