According to reports, the film is set between episodes 6 and 7 of the fan-favourite series, Mirzapur Season 1. Mirzapur: The Movie has stayed true to the series’ fans, bringing the tension surrounding the Mirzapur throne to the big screen this time. The film starts with 'Kaleen Bhaiya' ruling Mirzapur without anyone seriously challenging him. In fact, his illegal drug business is also running smoothly. However, a new threat is looming around the throne. For the uninitiated, the makers introduced a new antagonist, 'Babban Yadav', played by Ravi Kishan.
Just like many, 'Babban' is also after Mirzapur’s throne. He has a secret plan. Now, if you are wondering who 'Babban' is, we’ve got you covered. He is a drug dealer from Jaisalmer. 'Babban' has betrayed his partner, 'Bhairav Singh' (played by Sushant Singh) and returns to Jaisalmer. He has the support of politician 'JP Yadav', who is also the chief minister’s brother. 'JP Yadav' tells 'Babban' to target Jaunpur instead of 'Kaleen's' estate, Mirzapur, so that he does not get into trouble with 'Kaleen Bhaiya' and his men.
However, 'Babban' has a secret plan and thus meets 'Rati Shukla', the powerful don of Jaunpur. He is adamant about taking control of the Mirzapur throne. 'Babban's' plan is to find drugs hidden in the Jaisalmer desert and sell them to 'Kaleen Bhaiya' to gain his trust. But his plan doesn’t end here. His actual plan is to lure 'Kaleen Bhaiya' and bring him to the desert, kill him and take over his power.
While 'Babban' thinks it will be easier to take control of Mirzapur from 'Kaleen Bhaiya', he does not know that 'Kaleen Bhaiya' already has 'Guddu Pandit' (played by Ali Fazal) and 'Bablu Pandit' (played by Jitendra Kumar) as his trusted men. His plan to lure 'Kaleen Bhaiya' fails as 'Guddu Pandit', 'Bablu Pandit', and 'Kaleen's' son, 'Munna Bhaiya', are all actively fighting to protect and prove their loyalty to the Tripathi empire at this point.
While Mirzapur: The Movie shows a new rivalry between 'Babban' and 'Kaleen Bhaiya', it has also brought back the old rivalry between 'Munna Bhaiya' and 'Guddu'. The audience who closely observed the series knows that 'Munna' and 'Guddu' are in love with the same girl named 'Sweety Gupta'. While 'Sweety' has reciprocated 'Guddu's' feelings, she does not pay heed to 'Munna's' romantic attraction.
In the post-credit scene, 'Guddu', 'Munna' and 'Bablu' are seen at a salon. While both 'Guddu' and 'Munna' are getting facials, 'Bablu' sits beside them and is busy on his phone. He is texting 'Sweety's' sister, 'Golu'. When 'Munna' asks 'Bablu' about his girlfriend, 'Guddu' joins in the conversation and casually reveals that he has a girlfriend and loves her very much. In a playful exchange, 'Guddu' and 'Munna' decide to reveal the name of the woman they are in love with at the same time.
'Guddu' says 'Sweety's' actual name, while 'Munna' says 'Sweety'. They quickly realise that they are in love with the same girl. Soon their conversation escalates, and the scene ends with gunshots, leaving the future of 'Munna', 'Sweety' and 'Guddu' uncertain. According to reports, there will be a sequel to Mirzapur: The Movie, and it will explore the chemistry between the trio, 'Munna', 'Sweety' and 'Guddu'.
