Amid this, people have grown curious to know about her personal life. For the unversed, Katie was married twice. Currently, she is married to Mark Cross. Mark Cross is a design manager and director of a Talent company. Katie and Mark first crossed paths in 2006 while they were working at the Met Office together. They began dating in 2007. At the time, Katie was newly divorced from her first husband, Damian McKinney, while Mark was still in a seven-year marriage with his first wife, Ruth. In the same year, Mark and Katie were photographed having sex in a field. Three years later, in 2010, the couple tied the knot. Katie and Mark’s wedding was broadcast on an episode of Celebrity Four Weddings. The couple welcomed a son, Max, in 2008.
In an old interview with MailOnline, Katie admitted that it is only Mark who can control her. She mentioned that Mark is the total opposite of her. While she is kind of fiery, Mark is soft-spoken. She described him as the nicest person. Katie was quoted as saying:
"He is probably the only person on the planet who can control me, weirdly, because whatever he says is going to be right and there is no escaping that. If he was an a***hole, you could just ignore it but he’s not. Mark is genuinely the polar opposite of me, and everyone says that. He’s known as 'Lovely Mark,' which really gets on my t***. Everyone says to me with a look of horror, 'What, you’re married to Lovely Mark?' His relatives in Australia actually said to me at Christmas, 'It’s a surprise that you’re married to our Mark.' He is genuinely the nicest man on the planet."
When Katie and Mark Cross began dating, he was still married to his first wife. Back in a 2013 interview, Katie shared that she had no regrets about having an affair with Mark back then. She explained that an affair could be liberating if a person is not happy with their partner. Katie added that when she and Mark had an affair, she was young, carefree, childless and spontaneous. She was quoted as saying:
"I don't apologise for stealing my husband Mark from his wife. Our affair was exhilarating, our time together has been a hoot and we're happy. If you aren't happy with your partner, an affair can be liberating. In my first affair with a married man, I offered him the opposite of the life he had with his wife. I was young, carefree, childless and spontaneous."
In a 2013 interview, The Apprentice alum stated that she would never cheat on her current husband, Mark Cross. She explained that after having a family, a person cannot be selfish. Katie was reportedly cheated on by her first husband, Damian McKinney. He allegedly left her when she gave birth to her second child. The former couple shares two children. Katie said:
"I would never cheat on my husband now. There's too much at stake. When you have a family, you can't think like a single person any more. There are too many little hearts to look after. I couldn't look at my kids if I'd let them down like this. It would be too big a price to pay."
