John Travolta and Kelly Preston have been in the headlines over the paternity of their youngest child, Benjamin Travolta.
For John Travolta, being a dad has been life's greatest "privilege". However, what happens when something that has your whole heart is questioned in the court of law? Well, a similar situation has surrounded the Travolta family as a case involving Priscilla Presley has led to some shocking revelations about his and Kelly Preston's youngest son, Benjamin Travolta. It all started when Brigitte Kruse made a shocking claim during her recent hearing in the ongoing case against Priscilla's son.
According to the documents submitted to the court, Riley allegedly served as an egg donor for John Travolta and Kelly Preston's youngest son, Benjamin Travolta, born in 2010. The couple wanted another child after their older son, Jett's tragic death. However, the revelation has now sparked several questions, as the internet speculates about the truth behind Ben's birth. Let us introduce you to the children of the Travolta family.
John and Kelly are parents to three children; the couple welcomed their firstborn on April 13, 1992. The couple named their son, Jett and in a conversation with PEOPLE, John expressed just how much he loved being a dad to his little boy. He recalled during the 1994 interview that he held his baby boy for hours when he was born and refused to let go when the medical team came to take him for tests.
However, their happy home was soon struck by a storm. It was in 2009 when John and Kelly faced the biggest loss of their lives. Jett died in January 2009 while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas. The then 16-year-old had hit his head on a bathtub after suffering a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. In an episode of The Doctors in 2012, the couple opened up about the loss and revealed that Jett was autistic, had Kawasaki Syndrome, and had seizures.
John and Kelly welcomed their second child, a little princess they named Ella Bleu, on April 3, 2000. Like her parents, Ella also found her passion in the performing arts, and John stood by her like "a very proud dad", beaming at his daughter's success. Before starring in her own films, Ella played several roles in her father's movies, such as the 2009 film, Old Dogs, and 2019's The Poison Rose. In 2021, she nabbed her first lead in Get Lost, a modern-day retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland story.
However, she is not just an acclaimed actress, Ella also released her first single, Dizzy, in January 2025. Ella has further solidified her title as a multi-hyphenate after making her New York Fashion Week debut. She walked in the Karl Lagerfeld runway show for their Cara Loves Karl capsule collection in September 2025.
John and Kelly welcomed their third child, son Benjamin, on November 23, 2010. Unlike his sister and parents, Ben hasn't expressed any interest in acting or music so far. However, he has his own unique skills. The youngest Travolta is into parkour, an impressive hobby the preteen has recently taken on. In April 2025, John shared a video on Instagram showcasing his son's new interest, featuring his skills at an indoor adventure gym.
According to the actor, he shares a close bond with his son, Ben. In an August 2025 interview, John opened up about the emotional conversation he and his son had after his mother, Kelly Preston's death, when Ben revealed he was afraid to lose his dad too. He recalled:
"I said, 'But you know, Ben … you always love the truth, and I'm going to tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when they're gonna go or when they're going to stay.' Your brother [Jett] left at 16. Too young. Your mother left at 57. That was too young. But who's to say? I could die tomorrow. You could. Anybody can," he said. "So let's look at it like it's part of life. You don't know exactly. You just do your best at trying to live the longest you can."
The recent revelation about Riley Keough being the egg donor for John and Kelly's third baby has left everyone shocked. However, many have wondered why the couple opted for a donor. Well, the couple decided to have their third child after the death of their oldest son, Jett, in 2009. However, Kelly was 47 years old at the time, which made a natural pregnancy extremely difficult for her.
Kelly once talked to TODAY about not considering the risks of carrying a baby at her age. She also revealed that it took her over three years to conceive, and she didn't even believe that it would happen. Kelly Preston passed away on July 12, 2020, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was quoted as saying:
"I didn't (consider this risks). I just considered that it was difficult. I never thought that would be me at all. So, I think we're just really happy that we're so fortunate."
