While speaking on the We Need to Talk podcast, the 41-year-old said that she and her sister are “polar opposites” who don’t have a relationship and that she has cut ties. Both sisters were born to the same parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.
Kelly and Aimee Osbourne’s dispute started many years ago
The family rift became public in 2002 when MTV began filming The Osbournes, which aired until 2005. Aimee Osbourne refused to participate and moved out of the family house at 16. Sharon Osbourne later said on The Talk in 2018 that the constant filming was driving Aimee insane and that she wanted to avoid growing up on camera.
Aimee told The Independent in 2015 that she was trying to find her own identity in what she described as a chaotic family life and did not want that version of herself shown to millions. She has also said the show did not align with the future she wanted for herself, and she wanted to protect herself because she and her siblings were young and impressionable at the time.
While Kelly and Jack Osbourne stayed on the show and became close, Aimee kept a low profile, lived separately, and pursued music under the name ARO, with releases like Raining Gold and a small number of live shows in the US. Over the years, both sisters have acknowledged the distance. In 2015, Aimee said there was acceptance between them but no ease, and that they did not socialise.
Kelly claimed while appearing on the Armchair Expert podcast in 2021 that she and Aimee were not on speaking terms and that they were very different people who did not understand each other. Despite that, the family was seen together at Ozzy Osbourne's funeral and procession in Birmingham in July 2025 after his death at 76.
The most recent update came on September 15, 2026, on the We Need To Talk podcast. Kelly said that she and Aimee Osbourne were complete opposites and compared their relationship to oil and water. She claimed that growing up, Aimee rarely acknowledged her and Jack and lived in her own world. She also shared that she had always felt Aimee was embarrassed of them and of the whole family.
Kelly added that not having a close bond with her older sister had been one of the hardest parts of her life and that she carried a lasting resentment about never having a big sister figure. She stated that she respects Aimee but they are fundamentally different, and that there was no hope for reconciliation. She also explained her decision to cut ties by saying that if someone constantly tries to change her, says hurtful things about her, and seems to thrive when she is not doing well, she does not want that person in her life.

Born on September 2, 1983, in London, Aimee Osbourne is the eldest child of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. She began her career away from reality TV. Her first acting role came in 2003 with MTV's musical film Wuthering Heights, followed by voice work in Postman Pat: The Movie in 2014. Music has been Aimee’s primary focus. She records under the project name ARO, taken from her initials, which she started developing around 2010.
Aimee's style is synth-pop and dream-pop, influenced by Kate Bush, Portishead, and Björk, a clear departure from her father's heavy metal. ARO debuted in 2015 with the single Raining Gold, which quickly crossed two million views, followed by I Can Change and Cocaine Style in 2016. Aimee Osbourne’s debut album, Vacare Adamaré, was released in 2020 on Makerecords, featuring tracks like Shared Something With The Night.
