Ankita Lokhande’s action in the viral video leads to a debate on social media
Ganeshotsav is being celebrated with great fevour across the nation, with Bappa's presence lighting up homes everywhere and filling the air with devotion. Like many others, several stars have also welcomed Lord Ganesha into their homes, including Arjun Bijlani.
A clip from the Aarti at Arjun Bijlani's residence was posted by the popular pap account Viral Bhayani. In the video, Ankita Lokhande can be seen playfully joining in the chants, saying 'Morya' while gesturing with her hands to act like a small child.
The light-hearted moment has Ankita’s husband, Vicky Jain, and the other guests around her bursting into laughter as well. The celebration continues as Ankita quickly gets back to singing the aarti, later breaking into an energetic dance.
However, the video also started a debate on social media. Netizens were spotted questioning Ankita’s actions, with one of them writing that worship should not involve any kind of noise or overreacting.
A few others alleged that the actress was drunk. One also wrote, “Why I think she overreacts. Ok everyone have different connection with bappa, but it looks abnormal overacting.” A second user wrote, “Now this is called over acting.. no respect shown towards Lord Ganesha or worshipping them. It's sad.” A third user said, “Overacting.. bappa ke Aarti main majak kon karta hai.”
On the other hand, a few people came in support of Ankita. A user wrote that Ankita has been a devotee of Lord Ganesh from the early days of her career. Another person clarified Ankita’s actions by writing, “Who majak nhi kar rahi who bacha ke bare mein bol rahi hai bacha dedo bolke dusri ladki se pehele dekhlo uske baat comment karna.”
As of this writing, Ankita Lokhande has not responded to the debate emerging from the viral video.

Back in 2025, a celebration reel featuring TV stars Nia Sharma, Ankita Lokhande, Arjun Bijlani's wife Neha Swami, and others landed in controversy. The video, which is now going viral, shows the actors clapping and chanting 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' together.
What caught netizens' attention was that the stars had their backs towards the Ganesh idol while making the reel instead of facing Bappa during the aarti. Many users called them out for it and questioned the act. However, Nia, Ankita, and Neha did not respond to the controversy that emerged from the viral video.
