Maria Bartiromo decided to part ways with Fox News after 12.5 years. Maria is a well-known face in the financial news section, and her career spans decades, with more than 12 years at Fox News and 20 years at CNBC. Apart from that, she is also an author. Maria, during her time at CNBC, became the first woman to do a live broadcast directly from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

Speaking of her role at Fox News, she was a part of several flagship shows. It was on September 3, 2026, that Fox News announced Maria Bartiromo's departure. The reason for Maria's exit was not revealed yet by Fox or by her, however, her abrupt departure has shifted attention to her extensive career and the conversations she sparked during her time at Fox News

Maria Bartiromo leaves Fox News: Here's how much she earned from the network

Some reports claimed that Maria Bartiromo was last seen on her show on August 9, 2026. On September 3, 2026, Fox News announced that Maria is no longer with the network, 'effective today', without any further explanation. Maria has also yet to release any statement regarding the same. Fox News Media thanked the financial journalist for her decade-long contribution to the network and wished her the best of luck in her future endeavours.

During her time, she was seen in flagship shows like her weekday show, Mornings With Maria; her weekly show, Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo; and another weekly show, Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street. Following her departure, Fox News Media made a few, seemingly temporary, changes to the flagship shows. Mornings With Maria has been renamed Mornings With Fox Business, and it will be hosted by several other anchors. Sunday Morning Futures will reportedly be hosted by Jason Chaffetz, while Cheryl Casone will be seen on FBN's Wall Street.

Amid her abrupt departure, Maria's massive net worth grabbed attention. If the reports are to be believed, her net worth is currently USD 50 million. On the other hand, she reportedly was earning an annual salary of millions from Fox News.

As per various reports, her annual income from the network was USD 10 million. Till 2025, Maria earned USD 70 million for her work with the network. The Wrap earlier obtained a document, as per which Maria was asked whether she was compensated USD 70 million by the network from the time she started working, to which she replied with a 'yes'.

Why did Maria Bartiromo leave Fox News?

The reason for Maria Bartiromo's abrupt exit has not been revealed. However, with White House looking for a press secretary, specualtions have been rife that it might be her next role. On September 3, 2026, JD Vance dismissed the buzz and replied, 'I don't think so'. During her time on Fox News, Maria sparked massive controversies, including Dominion Voting Systems filing a billion-dollar lawsuit alleging that she was one of the anchors who spread “stolen election” falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election.

The case was later settled for USD 787.5 million. Another case was Smartmatic's USD 2.7 billion lawsuit. The abrupt departure of Maria came two months later, when Fox had to issue an apology for celebrity investor Kevin O'Leary's (Shark Tank) comments on Maria's show.
