Recently, Brooke sat for an interview with Us Weekly and looked back on the past, when her bond with her father strained after he slept with one of her close friends. While Brooke feels Hulk was an amazing father, their relationship was not perfect, and it started to strain when her close friend, Christiane Plante, claimed that she had an affair with Hulk.
Recently, Brooke recalled the episode, which proved to be the final blow to Hulk and Linda's relationship. The ex-couple stayed together for more than 20 years. They got married in 1983, and it was in 2007 that they ended things. It was Brooke's friend Christiane's affair with Hulk, which happened during the time the professional wrestler was ending things with his first wife, with whom he shared two kids, Brooke and Nick.
Speaking of Christiane Plante, she and Hulk Hogan shared a massive 21-year age gap. When their affair happened, she was reportedly 33 years old. Several data points in the public domain revealed that Plante was an assistant and a very close friend to Brooke Hogan.
Some unverified reports also claimed Plante modeled and even worked as a receptionist. Plante reportedly also assisted with Brooke's music album. In an interview with the National Enquirer, Christiane Plante said her relationship with Hulk began when his marriage to Linda nearly ended.
According to her, Linda had already left Hulk by then; the official papers had not been submitted. Plante also said that when Linda almost left him, Hulk was shocked by his first wife's decision to divorce him. While Brooke, Linda, and Christiane admitted that the latter had an affair with Hulk, he initially never admitted the same publicly. Speaking of her relationship with Hulk, Plante said:
"My relationship with Terry began at a time when Terry and Linda privately knew their marriage was ending. She had left him already, although no official papers had been filed."
In the same interview with the National Enquirer, Christiane Plante went on to reveal that she had her fair share of guilt and pain. Plante even penned down an apology note to Brooke Hogan. Plante further mentioned that she was not able to forgive herself for her own actions, and she lost an amazing friend. Her exact words were:
"Having felt the guilt and pain build up, I gave a note to Brooke apologizing for my actions. I will never be able to fully forgive myself for this. I have lost an amazing friend.”
Time and again, Brooke also talked about this tough phase that she had to navigate, where her father and her close friend betrayed her. Blogger Perez Hilton later revealed that Brooke posted a note about the same, which was allegedly deleted. According to the alleged message, Brooke described the betrayal she faced. The alleged message could be read as:
"When your best friend and one of your closest family members that you have loved unconditionally since your first day on this earth, betray you together, you could MAYBE find it in yourself to forgive one day … but you will NEVER forget the hurt they caused you …”
