Christina Aguilera's nude bathtub selfie sparks Britney Spears comparison
Christina Aguilera took to her Instagram handle on October 28, 2026, and shared a nude bathtub selfie. She teased fans that it was a slight glimpse of her Halloween costume. However, she kept the complete details of her look under wraps. In her words:
"Last looks before xtinaween."
Needless to say, the post quickly caught the attention of internet users. Many fans complimented her appearance and wondered what she had planned for the spooky holiday. While many followers praised Christina's confidence, others used the post to bring up Britney Spears. One person penned, "A Britney era is coming for everyone." Another user wrote, "Britney did this already, I'm sure."
For those who don't know, fans made the comparison after Britney has repeatedly shared revealing photos on Instagram. It includes her nude and semi-nude bathtub pictures. Her posts have also sparked a debate, where some people are supporting her freedom to express herself. However, others question her decision to share these personal images in public.
Later, in her memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney discussed that these photos show her control over her own body and images after living in a conservatorship for years. Therefore, many fans view it as a way of expressing her Independence on her own terms. In her words:
"I know that a lot of people don't understand why I love taking pictures of myself naked or in new dresses. But I think if they'd been photographed by other people thousands of times, prodded and posed for other people's approval, they'd understand that I get a lot of joy from posing the way I feel sexy and taking my own picture."
Christina and Britney rose to fame during the same time. In turn, they have often been compared throughout their careers. They appeared on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as kids before they became major pop stars in the late 1990s. Britney became famous for songs like Baby One More Time, while Christina earned fame with Genie in a Bottle. However, Christina reinvented her image with the 2002 album Stripped.
