While Diane Farr has been a popular face in the entertainment industry, her ex-husband, Seung Yong Chung, has been the CEO and co-founder of Cashmere Agency in Los Angeles. He joined the company in February 2003 and left it in December 2024.
The businessman and marketing executive was born in 1970 in Seoul, South Korea. His father, Young Ja Chung, was the president of Intraco Korea, an import-export company based in Seoul. On the other hand, his mother, Tae Wha, was employed as a nurse at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Seung Yong Chung was two years old when his parents came to the United States in 1972. Seung initially enrolled at Gaithersburg High School and later came to Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business, where he acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In 1993, he joined The George Washington University, obtaining a Master of Science in Information Systems.
For the unversed, Seung established Cashmere Agency with Ted Chung. The company has been a recipient of AdAge’s Multicultural Agency Award alongside many other accolades. Although it remains unknown where he has been working after he left Cashmere, Seung’s net worth is reported to be between USD 19.8 million and USD 20.3 million.
Diane Farr and Seung Yong Chung reportedly met in the early 2000s. The duo first encountered each other at a mutual friend’s engagement party. A year later, they ran into each other again at that couple’s wedding in Mexico, and this time the connection stuck.
Farr has spoken publicly about the early challenges they faced as an interracial couple. Diane once recalled in an interview that when she and Chung were in their fifth date, he warned her there could be issues with his parents, who were worried that Korean traditions would not survive if he married outside of their race. Despite that pressure, the relationship deepened.
Chung popped the question on October 29, 2005, and the couple married less than a year later on June 26, 2006. The ceremony took place at Rainbow Tarns Lodge in Mammoth Lakes, California, and included five Buddhist monks, reflecting Chung’s heritage and the couple’s desire to honour both backgrounds.
The family slowly started expanding. Their first child, a son named Beckett Mancuso Chung, was born on March 16, 2007. A year later, on August 27, 2008, Diane gave birth to daughters Sawyer Lucia Chung and Coco Trinity Chung.
After 14 years together, Farr confirmed in December 2020 that she and Chung had divorced. She has not shared details about the split, but has emphasized that co-parenting remains a priority. Both have since moved forward separately while continuing to raise their three children.
