Brittany lived life to the fullest; biking and hiking outdoors were her favourite hobbies. However, she passed away in the most gruesome way as she suffered an alligator attack.
For those who don't know, Brittany Clark was swimming with her friend and boyfriend in the Econlockhatchee River. But within a few minutes, she was attacked by a 13-foot alligator, which chopped off one of her arms and left the other barely hanging. Brittany died due to the excessive blood loss. Talking about the gators, the report claims that the reptile was euthanised.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission revealed that multiple agencies and a contracted nuisance alligator trapper responded to the scene. They found the 13-foot alligator at the location, and a 12.5-foot alligator half a mile away and they captured and killed them. They kept the head of it as samples and evidence. The FWC statement can be read as:
"Multiple agencies and a contracted nuisance alligator trapper responded to the scene. A 13-foot alligator found at the incident location, and a 12.5-foot alligator half a mile away were captured and killed. Samples from the alligators have been collected and the FWC's investigation into this incident remains active. The FWC extends its deepest sympathies to the victim's family and loved ones. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time."
Another report revealed that it was the third attack in the area in just a week. However, FWC revealed that serious injuries like this caused by an alligator are rare in Florida. But they advised taking the needed precautions.
Brittany Clark's brother called her an amazing sister one could ever ask for. He stated that he is never going to be the same after the passing of his sister in the horrific way. He shared that the entire family is struggling as no one wants to lose a child or a sister. He said:
"She was an amazing sister as anybody could ever ask for. It's one of those things that'll never happen to us, you know? It'll never be me there. Nobody wants to lose a child. And on the same page, nobody wants to lose a sister either. They're struggling just like me. But I'm very, very happy that they have each other."
The brother revealed that Brittany was working at a construction company and enjoying it ever since she moved back to Orlando after her college graduation. He also shared the moment he found out about his sister's passing. He stated that it was distracting; he was in shambles and had a very hard time processing that it actually happened.
The brother also shared that he cannot imagine th e trauma he must have been dealing with. He expressed gratitude that he was with his sister while he couldn't be with them. He said:
"My reaction to that was ... distraught. I was in shambles. I had a very, very hard time believing that it was real life, I can't imagine the trauma. I can't imagine how hard it was. He was there for my sister when I couldn't be. And I appreciate that a lot."
