However, it was the caption of her post that caught our attention. She penned a note about how society has a different and attitude towards public figures. Zeenat also mentioned that in her 50 years of career, she has read many cruel statements about herself. In her note, she talked about how people feel it's their right to spread gossip and pass judgment on celebrities. In her words:

"Public perception is a funny thing. When you are famous, complete strangers imagine that they have an intimate knowledge of your character and life story. Many also feel entitled to the sort of gossip and judgment that would elicit their own moral outrage were the tables turned. In my 50 years in Hindi cinema I have read and heard enough falsehoods and cruel statements about myself to fill a book."

Further, in her note, Zeenat stated that though she doesn't pay attention to such false news, she will also not stay behind if she has to call out those who spread wrong information. The veteran actress added that after so many years of reading false statements, she has understood that as a public figure, she has to deal with it. Elaborating more on it, Zeenat said:

"I have no inclination to list and counter each one of these because they simply do not merit so much of my attention. Now I know the usual response to such an assertion is - well, if you choose to be in the public eye, then deal with the gossip. To which my reply is - yes, I have and will continue to deal with it. But I will also not hesitate to say that spreading loose gossip and false information says much more about the speaker than the one who is spoken about!"

When Zeenat talked about her sabbatical from the glamour world

Earlier, in an interview with Vogue India, Zeenat had opened up about her sabbatical from the film industry. The veteran actress stated that after years of living a life of stardom, she wanted something of her own. Zeenat then revealed that the birth of her sons, Azaan Khan and Zahaan Khan gifted her with the bond that she always longed for. Mentioning how she was happy spending her days with her kids, Zeenat had said:

"After years of living a life dictated by stardom, a life of endless shifts, performances and obligations, my days begun to ring hollow. I was aching for something of my own. A family, really. One with bonds as deep as the one I shared with my own mother. The birth of my sons in 1986 and 1989 gifted me all this and more. As I contended with their diapers and bibs, the prolonged illness and death of their father, then later school, scrapes and college romances, work offices, dwindled and I was happy for it."
