For the unversed, recently on the reality show, Alliance, Kushal openly spoke about a past chapter of his love life with Gauahar’s husband, Zaid Darbar and Sohail Khan. The former pair, Kushal and Gauahar, met on the reality show, Bigg Boss 7 and eventually fell in love. Now, Zaid revealed how his wife, Gauahar, spoke about her ex-boyfriend, Kushal Tandon.

In a recent episode of Alliance, Kushal Tandon opened up about his past relationship with Gauahar Khan, who is now the wife of Zaid Darbar. For the uninitiated, Zaid and Gauahar tied the knot on December 25, 2020, in an intimate yet grand ceremony at the ITC Maratha hotel in Mumbai.
While interacting with Sohail Khan and Zaid Darbar on the show, Alliance, Kushal asked Sohail, "Aapko meri aur iski (Zaid) history pata hai na?" As Sohail Khan didn’t get what Kushal meant, he went to explain the connection between him and Zaid. Referring to his ex-girlfriend, Gauahar, Kushal said:
"Once, I was in love with a girl; he is married to that girl."
The conversation didn’t turn out to be awkward as the trio continued it with mutual respect. Salman Khan’s brother, Sohail, praised both Kushal and Zaid for the maturity they displayed while talking about a connection from the past. He also appreciated the fact that there was no discomfort despite the duo’s shared history. Reflecting on the past relationship of his with Gauahar, Kushal shared that around 15 years had passed since the thing happened.
During the same conversation, Zaid revealed how his wife, Gauahar, spoke about Kushal, who was her ex-boyfriend. Zaid shared that Gauahar always said, "Woh bahut achha insaan hai, Zaid," indicating that she still has respect for her ex-boyfriend. Once, in an interview with Bombay Times, Gauahar reflected on her equation with Kushal. She said:
"I have always been dignified and have known where to draw the line. It was an amazing one-and-a-half-year relationship with him, and there is no bitterness from my side. First of all, I never mentioned his name; the media made those assumptions. If you are quoting me in connection with someone else, it’s your onus and not mine. There are two golden words called ‘no comments’, and I use them very well. So, no comments. I wish everyone who has been a part of my journey, well."
Kushal Tandon's joke on Gauahar Khan sparked major backlash
A few days back, a video from Alliance showing Kushal Tandon, Zaid Darbar and many other contestants went viral on social media. In the clip, Kushal and Zaid were seen working out at a gym, while the latter spoke to the other contestants. At the time, Zaid recalled a conversation he had with Kushal in the cigarette room. Zaid shared that as he had cigarettes that were not good, he asked Kushal to lend his cigarettes. In response, Kushal said to Zaid, "Tujhe saali, saare meri cheezin pasand aati hai."
Although Kushal didn’t mention Gauahar’s name, it was clear to the audience that Kushal referred to his ex-girlfriend, Gauahar. Thus, many users slammed Kushal for his lame joke. In fact, some users also took digs at Gauahar’s husband, Zaid, who didn’t react to Kushal’s joke. A user wrote, "I don't like Kushal, but Zaid is wrong too."
Another user commented, "My reaction was like, what the hell is this....and zaid aap achhe ho to bhi ye baat normal nahi thi. He is giving such disgusting remarks on your wife. How can you tolerate that, and is she an object to both of you?"
