A while ago, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress took to her Instagram handle and shared a dreamy proposal video. Sharing the love-filled video, she announced her engagement to Mazen Mody. The moment was quite personal, and Navika called it "the most special surprise ever."

On January 9, 2026, Navika Kotia shared a dreamy proposal video of her getting engaged to her boyfriend, Mazen Mody, a real estate developer. This winter turned special for the actress as she got the best surprise from her partner. In the clip, Navika was seen wearing a pink dress and was blindfolded, while her to-be-husband, Mazen, was seen in a black suit. To surprise his ladylove, Mazen arranged for a dreamy proposal at a snow-clad mountain area. The video featured red roses, champagne glasses and a beautiful cake with a text atop, "Navika, I love you." In the video, Mazen went down on his knees and proposed to Navika, while the background had a huge heart with the text "Marry Me", decorated with red rose petals.

When Navika Kotia revealed getting engaged in January 2026

In a November 2025 interview with The Mirror, Navika shared her engagement plan. She revealed that her engagement will take place in January 2026. She mentioned that they had their Gud Dhana ceremony, which is a baat pakki ritual usually performed by Jains. She highlighted that the ceremony was kept low-key and took place in her boyfriend, Mazen’s house in Pune. She added that they haven’t decided much about their wedding. She was quoted as saying:

"Our Roka/engagement will be in January. We recently had our Gud Dhana ceremony, which is a baat pakki ritual that Jains do. It was finalised just a fortnight ago and planned at the very last minute. We kept it very personal and lowkey, just our parents and a small, cute, wholesome ceremony that took place at Mazen's house in Pune. We are tentatively planning the engagement around the end of January 2026. We haven't decided when we want to get married yet, maybe a year or two later."

In the same interview, Navika shared that her relationship was an arranged one. Navika revealed that she and Mazen had been friends for about a year after meeting through a mutual friend. It was Mazen’s mom who called Navika’s mom and asked for her daughter’s hand in marriage in Diwali 2025. Navika shared that she didn’t expect the thing to occur so soon. She called her arranged relationship with Mazen a 'blessing' in her life. She was quoted as saying:

"It was an arranged marriage. We had been friends for about a year after meeting through a mutual friend. Mazen's mom called my mom around Diwali this year and asked for my hand in marriage. I always wanted to go for an arranged marriage, so I was glad, though I didn't expect it to happen so soon. Things moved very quickly, but I'm truly grateful to have found this blessing in my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better companion or a more loving family."

Further in the interview, Navika expressed that after her wedding was fixed to Mazen by their families, she started believing that matches are truly made in heaven. She shared that initially she had some doubts, but after taking some time, she said yes to the thing. She also expressed her excitement about the new beginning. She was quoted as saying:

"Finding the right partner is definitely difficult, but through this experience, I've come to truly believe that matches are made in heaven. It's beautiful how everything just fell into place and how the universe brought our families together. After Mazen's mom called my mom, I did have my doubts and speculations, but after taking some time, I finally said yes, because everything just felt right. It still hasn't completely sunk in, as it all happened rather quickly and can be overwhelming at times. But I'm genuinely very excited for this new beginning."
