He passed away at the age of 69 after a difficult battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The French actor was known worldwide for his work on the Netflix hit series, Emily in Paris. According to his family's statements, Pierre passed away on May 25, 2026. Meanwhile, fans are wondering if they might see Pierre Deny for the last time in the show.
No, Pierre Deny will not be seen in Emily in Paris Season 6. According to reports, the actor had already left the series. It was a while before the makers began work on the production for the upcoming final season. He used to play the role of 'Louis de Léon', an intimidating CEO of a fictional luxury fashion giant, JVMA. Perry was mostly seen during the show's third and fourth seasons. He was also introduced as the father of 'Nicolas de Leon', played by Paul Forman.

Pierre's storyline eventually ended after his character faced allegations of corporate misconduct. In turn, his track ended immediately. In fact, due to this storyline, Pierre was not even seen in Season five of the show. At the same time, he was not expected to be seen in season six of the show either. Notably, the confirmation of his death comes a few days after Lily Collins, who plays the titular role of 'Emily' in Emily in Paris, shared a crucial update about the show's upcoming season on social media.

Lily revealed that they are already filming for the sixth and final season of Emily in Paris. In her words, "Annnnnd we're back — for the last time." She also confirmed that the sixth season will be the show's final season. It will be shot both in Greece and France. The timing of the announcement and Pierre's passing has left many fans emotional. Until now, the show's cast members have not publicly reacted to the actor's death. Still, views across social media have continued to share their tributes and memorable scenes from his time on the Netflix series.

According to statements shared by his family through AFP and reported by multiple international outlets, Pierre Deny passed away following a "sudden and severe" case of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS. The disease affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It led to muscle weakness and loss of muscle control. Some reports suggested that his illness developed rapidly in his final days. At the same time, his daughters expressed their gratitude to the people for their support of him during Pierre's difficult time.

Pierre's longtime co-star, Luce Mouchel, also shared an emotional tribute on Instagram after his death. She reflected on one of her final visits to the actor and described that he was dealing with the physical effects of the illness. Still, he had "sparkling eyes". The actress also called his death something that happened "too quickly and too brutally".

Before Pierre Deny came to prominence in Emily in Paris, he was already a respected figure in the French TV and theatre industry. He appeared in more than 100 TV series, films and stage productions over four decades. One of his most popular French TV roles was in the popular soap opera, Demain Nous appartient (Tomorrow Is Ours). In the show, Pierre played the role of 'Dr. Renaud Dumaze has been in more than 500 episodes between 2017 and 2023. At the same time, he was apparently involved in French Productions such as Fabio Montale, Une femme d'honneur, Joséphine, ange gardien, Sous le soleil and Braquo.
