Why Was Lindsie Chrisley Arrested In Georgia? 'Chrisley Knows Best' Star Says, 'Miss Hitting Them..'

Lindsie Chrisley is currently hogging the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. It seems that she has found herself in the midst of legal trouble over the weekend. For those unaware, TMZ broke the news a while ago that Lindsie was arrested in Georgia. 

Why was Lindsie Chrisley arrested?

According to jail records obtained by TMZ, Lindsie was arrested this Saturday night, on May 23, 2026, in Georgia. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was booked into jail before bonding out early Sunday morning, on May 24, 2026. In a statement to the outlet, Lindsie revealed that she was booked and immediately released. She also added that she has plans to fight the charge. The 36-year-old was quoted as saying:

"I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two-lane road because they almost hit an animal, and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was." 

Lindsie Chrisley's arrest comes after her messy breakup with ex-boyfriend, David Landsman 

For those unaware, the news of Lindsie's arrest on suspicion of DUI comes on the heels of her messy breakup drama with her ex-boyfriend, David Landsman. According to reports, she wants a judge to order David to stay 500 yards away from her after he was recently arrested for allegedly choking her. As per court documents obtained by TMZ, she has asked the court to order her ex-boyfriend to stop harassing, abusing, and intimidating her. 

According to Lindsie, she had dated David for 2 years and even stayed at each other's homes during that period. However, their relationship came to an end after his arrest on April 10, 2026, according to the filing. She claimed that she had gone to dinner with David on the night before his arrest, when he allegedly saw a photo on her phone which he thought was a photo of another man. After seeing the photo, David allegedly became verbally aggressive until Lindsie managed to explain that the man in the photo was none other than him. When he finally realised that he was in the wrong, he ended up apologising. 

Later, at his home, Lindsie broke to David that she wanted to step away from the relationship and went to pack her belongings. Reportedly, the more she confronted him “about lies he was telling in reference to the personal matters he is going through, the more [David] became agitated and aggravated." As per the court documents, when Lindsie tried to leave his home, he went on to “strangled [her]” multiple times, so much so that at one point he strangled her with “one hand and held her up so that her feet were off the ground.” David allegedly also grabbed Lindsie's throat and threw her outside. After noticing her injuries on her neck and head, she finally decided to call the cops.

Lindsie claimed that this was not the only time David had allegedly attacked her. She said that on February 13, 2026, when she went to his home to get back her dog, whom David had got out the day before, he attacked her. She claimed that David held her down on the ground and held her wrists together. In addition, he put his foot on her ankles to keep her from leaving. When she was finally able to break free, Lindsie punched him, grabbed her dog, and ran outside. However, David quickly followed her and got the dog back. It is worth noting that Lindsie Chrisley said that she is “extremely” concerned not only about her own safety but also the safety of her son.
