Millie Bobby Brown and Jacob Sartorius dated for roughly seven months in 2018, after first sparking rumors in December 2017 when Millie featured him on her Instagram Story and they began flirting publicly on social media.
They confirmed their relationship in January 2018 with a black-and-white selfie with heart emojis and went on to share birthday posts, beach photos, and Valentine's Day tributes that made them a constant talking point among teen fans.
The relationship ended on July 31, 2018, when both posted matching statements to their Instagram Stories saying the decision was completely mutual, that they were both happy, and that they were remaining friends, after which they unfollowed each other. While the breakup was presented as amicable and mature, coverage at the time suggested there was more pressure behind the scenes than the brief statements let on.
Both were very young; Millie was 14, and Jacob was 15, and their romance was lived entirely in the spotlight, with every comment and like being tracked and dissected. That level of public attention is difficult for any new relationship, especially at that age.
