According to reports, Walker Kessler’s fiancee, Abbie Stockard, is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. In 2025, she was crowned Miss America after building a platform focused on children's health and cystic fibrosis awareness.
Abbie attends Auburn University as a nursing student. Here, she is also involved with the Tiger Paws Dance Team, Geek Life, and student recruitment. She comes from a diverse background which includes performance, academics, and advocacy. During a recent interview, Abbie Stockard described herself as someone whose work extends way beyond the stage. She was quoted as saying:
“My name is Abbie Stockard. I am 23 years old and a native of Birmingham, Alabama. I’m a trained dancer and choreographer, a nursing student, and a passionate advocate for children's health and cystic fibrosis awareness.”
During the same interview, Abbie credited the Miss America Organisation with transforming her life. She claimed that she was thankful they provided her with over USD 89,000 in tuition scholarships and gave her the opportunity to serve as a national ambassador for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, Walker Kessler, 24, revealed that he is now engaged to his girlfriend, Abbie Stockard, 23, in a sweet social media post. In the picture that he posted, the couple could be seen with the biggest smiles on their faces while Abbie held up her hand to show off her ring. It seemed like the snap was taken in their kitchen with them wearing “fiance” and “fiancee” stitched into them. His heartfelt caption on the post can be read as:
“I give thanks to God I get to spend the rest of my life with you, Abbie. Here's to the future together. I love you so much.”
It is worth mentioning that Abbie also shared the news of the engagement on her own Instagram handle. She revealed that Weljer had proposed to her on the Fourth of July. Sharing a number of pictures from their special day, Abbie penned a long note in the caption, writing that the proposal was a huge surprise to her and that she will now get to marry her best friend.
She wrote:
“The greatest surprise! We’re getting married! I get to marry Walker Kessler — my best friend! Our story is truly one that only the Lord could have written. “So many things I once thought were coincidences were really His perfect plan unfolding, and our story is greater than anything I could have imagined. There’s no one else I’d rather spend the rest of my life with, doing life together and cheering each other on!”
Abbie concluded the note by saying that she is super excited for all the big things that God has in store for them and where He might lead them. She dubbed the day the “Best Fourth of July ever.”
For those wondering, Abbie and Walker’s love story began when they both attended Auburn University. The basketball player recounted in a press conference that his mom also played a significant role in them being together. He said that during his rookie year, when his parents got invited to an Alabama-Auburn basketball game, his mother took a picture of “random girl who's a dancer on the court.”
When Walker asked his mom who the girl was, she said that she didn't know. However, within three weeks, she found out that the girl’s name was Abbie. Following this, Walker looked her up on Instagram and “the rest is history.”
