Alasdhair Willis has been serving as the chief creative officer of Adidas since March 2022. Alasdhair Willis opened up on the opportunity to help form a new era of design and brand leadership in the company, taking it to a completely different level.

Alasdhair Willis reportedly spent his childhood in Middlesbrough, England. His journey started at a magazine called Wallpaper during the ‘90s, which featured themes such as lifestyle, architecture, and more. Alasdhair exited the company in 2002. He later formed a furniture design company called Established & Sons in 2005 and left it in 2010. Before joining Adidas, Alasdhair served as the Creative Director of a British brand called Hunter, which has gained recognition for its collection of boots.

Stella McCartney and Alasdhair Willis’ first meeting dates back to 2000s. Notably, Alasdhair was working as a consultant for Stella’s fashion brand at that time. The duo saw each other for the first time during a business meeting. Alasdhair recalled during an interview with Vogue in 2014 that they were at a breakfast table. Alasdhair said that the romance which started on that particular day later took a different turn.

Alasdhair revealed that he contacted Stella McCartney during the afternoon hours on the same day. The former claimed that he was not sure if Stella would reply. However, Stella responded to Alasdhair. Willis told Vogue in the interview that they have been happy since then and have a lot of respect for each other. Alasdhair said that they love each other’s company and described Stella as his best friend.

Stella McCartney and Alasdhair Willis have four children together

Stella McCartney and Alasdhair Willis exchanged vows in a wedding ceremony in 2003, held at the Isle of Bute. Two years after their marriage, Stella and Alasdhair had their first child named Miller, in 2005. They became the parents of a daughter named Bailey in 2006. The couple had two more children, Beckett and Riley, born in 2008 and 2010. Stella once said during an interview with Moda Operandi that her experience as a working mother has inspired her clothing line. Stella stated that the future belongs to the children, who will fight for their lives. She continued by saying:

“This next generation is beginning to challenge conventions and is becoming more conscious of their impact on this environment. The most modern thing we can do as a house is challenge conventions in the industry and take responsibility.”
