Hutsell is a professional dancer with an elite resume. She became a Radio City Rockette at the age of 18, performing in the famous Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York. She later trained and performed internationally with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in England, a background that shaped her discipline and stage presence throughout the Miss America competition.
Regan Hutsell entered the national pageant as Miss Texas, where she had already built a reputation as a powerhouse talent. During preliminary competition in Florida, she swept two of the biggest awards, Preliminary Talent and Preliminary Fitness, which positioned her as a front-runner before finals night. For her talent, she performed a high-energy jazz dance routine to Le Jazz Hot from Victor/Victoria, showcasing her Broadway-style training and athleticism.
Beyond performance, Hutsell’s focus is advocacy. Her official Community Service Initiative is titled Your Body Is Your Home, a platform centered on body image, physical health, and mental well-being. She has spoken publicly about promoting positive relationships with one’s body, especially for young women and dancers who face intense pressure around appearance and perfection.

Regan Hutsell opened up about some other facts related to her career
A few days before the Miss America pageant, Regan Hutsell appeared in an interview, opening up a little bit more about her career. Regan said that she was seven years old when she entered her first dance competition and needed a professional headshot for the entry.
While getting her hair and makeup done at the studio, she noticed the walls lined with photos of pageant winners and recalled thinking she wanted to be part of that world someday. Dance remained her first passion. She said her dream came true at 18 when she was hired as a Radio City Rockette in 2019 after an August audition, performing that season right before the COVID-19 shutdown.
She said the skills and mindset from her time as a Rockette and later with ballet companies in the US and England prepared her to compete as Miss Texas at Miss America on September 6, 2026. She said that she loves discussing the overlap between dance and pageantry, calling the similarities special and unique. She also pointed to a practical lesson from dance that helped her in West Palm Beach ahead of the pageant.
She explained that her regular foundation was melting off in the Florida heat until she remembered her stage makeup from dancing and switched to her reliable MAC foundation that does not budge. She laughed that the situation was fixed just in time for prelims.
Though she didn't grow up in pageants, she said dance gave her the confidence to try. After returning from dancing with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in England, she said she entered a season of life focused on giving back. She said the beauty of dance competitions is that the focus is only on dance, while in pageants, talent is just one part of the competition.
