Piper Rockelle has rang in the new year with a blast, albeit for questionable reasons. The young influencer, who shot to fame after being featured in Netflix's 2025 documentary titled "Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing," is once again trending on search engines after announcing that she has launched her OnlyFans account and earned a staggering USD 2.9 million on the very first day. 

The 18-year-old influencer kicked off 2026 with screenshots of her alleged earnings, instantly setting a firestorm online and placing her at the centre of a heated debate. While some lauded Rockelle for turning her massive social media presence into a business move, others strongly criticised its broader implications, especially raising concerns about how it could affect her mostly young followers.

What sparked the online debate?

Rockelle has been no stranger to online fame, having risen to fame as a child YouTuber before being featured on Netflix. With her OF debut and the alleged high income, the internet is raising conversations about how growing up online and early fame could backfire when child influencers step into adulthood under the public microscope.

On January 1, 2026, the former kidfluencer shared screenshots of her alleged OF earnings on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that she earned more than USD 1 million in under an hour of joining the adult platform. The screenshots showed nearly USD 900,000 from subscriptions, close to USD 300,000 from messages, and more than USD 60,000 in tips. On the first day, she earned a whopping USD 2.34 million. Celebrating the moment, the influencer wrote:

“We broke the record!!! $1,000,000 in less than an hour, you guys are the best, thank you for changing my life.”

Rockelle's post went viral in no time, drawing a variety of reactions. In the now-deleted thread, some users applauded her business milestone, and others criticised the move given her long history as a child influencer. One comment read, “Kind of disturbing people follow child YouTubers and wait for the day they join OF." 

Amid the mixed responses, however, not everyone could be convinced by Rockelle's alleged earnings. Many users and fellow creators called her out for "faking" her OF earnings. Popular lifestyle influencer Jameliz Smith pointed out Rockelle's "rookie mistake" in photoshopping her earnings and said:

"Hey Piper, I know you’re following the footsteps of your homegirl Sophie Rain, faking statements and whatnot, but unfortunately for you, her Photoshop was just a little bit better. If you look right here, at the end of the message’s revenue, you left the dollar sign off. I know, it’s a rookie mistake, but you know what? I think you should ask her to help you next time, since she has a lot of experience in doing sh*t like this. Good luck, you two!”

Rockelle seems to be unbothered by the online noise. Taking to her social media, the young adult influencer wrote,  "Don’t hate the player… hate the game."

Who Is Piper Rockelle?

Piper Rockelle has practically grown up in front of the cameras at this point. Born in 2007 in Canton, Georgia, she is an internet celebrity, actress, singer, dancer, and influencer. She was just eight when she rose to online fame, with her mother, Tiffany Smith, posting videos of her on YouTube. Her bubbly personality and pranks attracted millions of followers in no time.

Rockelle became a popular creator on YouTube and even formed a collaborative group of young creators known as the Piper Squad. The teen influencers often appeared together in various skits, vlogs, and fun challenges. The Piper Squad helped turn Rockelle into one of the most recognisable young creators in the U.S.

However, her rise to fame came with a lot of controversy. Rockelle grabbed attention in 2022 when former Piper Squad members filed a lawsuit against her mother, Tiffany Smith, accusing her of unfair compensation and inappropriate conduct while working on their online content. Though Tiffany constantly denied the claims, the legal dispute went on for two years before getting settled in October 2024 for around USD 2 million.

Rockelle's family's story was featured in 2025 with Netflix's Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing. The documentary did a deep dive into the various complications of early fame, exploring the pressures and ethical concerns surrounding child influencers. Rockelle, who was still a teen, had declined to participate and later shared how the situation had affected her, both personally and professionally. 

Now legally an adult, Rockelle has decided to take control over her career. Today, she is nothing less than a social media star. Her YouTube channel, where she generally posts challenges, lifestyle vlogs, and DIYs, has over 12.2 million subscribers. On TikTok, she had a staggering 18.6 million followers, whereas her Instagram boasts around 7 million.

How Piper Rockelle has reacted to the online reactions

Rockelle's post about her earnings from OnlyFans has since been deleted, but she continues to receive backlash. Reacting to the constant flak, the influencer posted a video note on TikTok, pushing back against the exploitation claims and pointing out that those who were criticising her were also the ones searching for explicit content involving her. In the video, shared on January 2, 2025, Rockelle said:

“You guys cannot convince me that I’m the gross one. Tell me why every single one of my search bars is, ‘Piper Rockelle unblurred photos, Piper Rockelle link photos, Piper Rockelle a** pics.’ Ya’ll are so quick to hate it, yet so fast to search that s–t up. Who’s the real gross one? You.”

Rockelle recently posted a video of herself using her earnings to gift her grandmother a car, a move that her supporters have praised. Love it or hate it, Piper Rockelle has surely gotten everyone talking!
