English comedian and actor, Russell Brand is known for his roles in Hollywood comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Arthur, and Rock of Ages. Apart from his professional life, Brand garnered a lot of negative attention after five women accused him of sexual assault and emotional abuse.
The actor is currently facing seven criminal charges in the UK, including several counts of rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault. Though he has denied all the claims made against him and stated that all the relationships he had were consensual. As of February 2026, he has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Amid his high-profile relationships, Peaches Geldof’s name too emerged.

Born on March 13, 1989, Peaches was the second daughter of Irish singer and songwriter, Bob Geldof and television presenter, Paula Yates. After completing her education at Queen’s College, Peaches worked as a writer for the UK edition of Elle Girl magazine. Peaches had a knack for writing and wrote a weekly socio-political column for The Daily Telegraph, and numerous articles for The Guardian.

She also worked in television, producing her own programmes. She was the youngest woman in the Tatler's list of Top Ten Fashion Icons for the year. Not just this, Peaches was voted as the 53rd sexiest woman in the world by FHM. She made her modelling debut in 2007 at London Fashion Week and, by 2009, had signed a deal and become the face of the Miss Ultimo collection.

Peaches Geldof was linked to Russell Brand in 2006 after they were spotted together at multiple events, including the Jezebel launch party in June 2006. She was 16 at the time, and he was 30; their age gap sparked significant controversy. Though there were rumours of Brand dating Peaches, the relationship was never confirmed.

According to multiple reports, Peaches was one of the high-profile women he dated at the height of his fame. Reports also stated that they were a thing in 2006, but Peaches once told The Daily Mail that she only flirted with the actor at a party, but there was nothing more than that.

Amid the reports of Peaches and Brand’s relationship, an incident occurred when her father, Bob Geldof, indulged in a verbal spat with Brand on stage. The incident dates back to 2006, when, during the NME awards, Geldof was called to the stage by Brand to accept the award for Best Music DVD. While announcing the winner, Brand referred to Geldof as “Sir Bobby Gandalf”. As soon as Bob Geldof made his way to the stage, he shared a tense handshake with Brand, took the microphone and said, ‘Russell Brand, what a c***’.
In 2014, Peaches died of a drug overdose. She was just 25 at that time. When the news of Peaches’ untimely death was released, Brand posted a video on his YouTube channel and said, “It’s too sad that Peaches Geldof has died. It’s a person that I sort of knew a little.” Not just this, he used his video to hit the media and called the coverage of Peaches’ death in the national newspapers “unpleasant”.

A year after Peaches’ death, Brand attended a drug and alcohol addiction charity fundraiser. Peaches Geldof’s sister, Fifi Geldof, had also attended the charitable event when Brand took to the stage and said, ‘From what I’ve experienced, a lot of people here tonight are on drugs right now.’ Brand’s unpleasant joke didn’t sit well with Fifi, who also lost her sister, Peaches, to drugs.

She reacted to Brand’s unpleasant comment and called out the actor for his offensive speech. She reportedly told the Daily Mail that Brand was an “unfunny b****** and an uber-douche extraordinaire”.
Russell Brand is currently facing seven criminal charges in the UK, which include counts of sexual misconduct, rape and assault. And the comedian recently confessed to his sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl when he was 30. During his appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Brand spoke about the sexual misconduct allegations against him and said that he had sex with a 16-year-old, but it was consensual. In his words:
“I did sleep with a 16-year-old when I was 30. In Europe and in the United Kingdom, where I'm from, the age of consent is 16. I was a lot younger and I was an immature 30-year-old. I recognize that my sexual conduct in the past was selfish. I did not apply enough consideration, barely any I suppose really, to how that sex was affecting other people."
Russell Brand has completely denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
