American singer and content creator, Oliver Tree's reported death in a helicopter crash in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, has left fans across the world in disbelief. While internet users recalled the musician's work and joyful personality after his death, many also became curious about his personal life, especially about his high-profile past relationship with singer, Melanie Martinez. However, despite being one of the most talked-about couples in the music world, they eventually went their separate ways.

Although she did not win the competition, her unique voice and creative style helped her to build a loyal fan following. Eventually, she found a place in the mainstream with her debut album, Dollhouse. It was followed by albums such as Cry Baby, K-12 and Portals. Melanie is well known for creating fictional worlds through her music, videos, and live performances. 

Some of her most popular songs include Play Date, Pity Party and Carousel. Apart from music, Melanie has also directed many music videos and projects. In fact, her fanbase is also known as "Crybabies". They have helped her to become one of the most popular alternative pop artists. Mostly, her music is based around a fictional character, 'Cry Baby'. In turn, she adds some fantasy, personal experiences and social commentary.

Oliver Tree and Melanie Martinez's high-profile relationship 

Oliver Tree and Melanie Martinez first rose to fame due to their mutual interest in music. In turn, they publicly confirmed their relationship in 2019. Fans were delighted over their romance because they both shared a similar alternative style and creative approach. Oliver and Martinez soon began appearing together in interviews and shared daily insights into their relationship. However, after dating for a year, they broke up in 2020. Some reports suggested it was a mutual breakup. 

However, after their breakup, Oliver revealed that he struggled emotionally. In fact, he had to deal with major online criticism from some fans after their breakup. Despite the chatter about their personal lives, they turned their focus to their individual careers.

Oliver Tree's tragic death at 32

Oliver Tree's relationship with Melanie Martinez once again made headlines due to his reported death. A few hours ago, a report revealed that he was among the six people who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Rio De Janeiro on June 14, 2026. The preliminary reports stated that the crash occurred after two helicopters collided mid-air and crashed near an electric vehicle parking area. In turn, it immediately sparked a major fire that damaged multiple vehicles. 

Later, emergency responders confirmed that everyone on the helicopters involving the pilots, died on the spot. Still, the officials are continuing to investigate the exact cause behind the incident. However, since the debris has spread across a wide area, it will be difficult to determine what led to the crash. Still, they are analysing video footage to understand the situation. The National Civil Aviation Agency's statement read:

"The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) reports that it has become aware of the air accident involving two helicopters today, June 14, in Rio de Janeiro, and is investigating the situation of the aircraft and pilots involved in the case. The investigations into the causes will be conducted by the Centre for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA)"
