The man in Kathy Griffin's now viral Instagram post has been identified as Finn Norman. He is a recent graduate of Loyola University Chicago. In fact, he holds a degree in Information Systems. But, he is not romantically involved with Kathy despite the online buzz.
Kathy later explained that Finn worked as her security guard while she was in New York City. But the nearby paparazzi clicked them holding hands as they got into a car outside Sardi's restaurant. Although the photos suggested that they were dating, the reality was that he simply escorted her into the car.
But Kathy had intentionally captioned the post writing, "He's 22. Have at it, internet", to see how people would react to their 43-year-old age difference. As expected, the internet soon began discussing it and criticising her. But she admitted that the entire post was a joke to test the public reaction.
Initially, many fans believed that Kathy had "hard-launched" a much younger boyfriend. But she clarified that he was just doing his job. For those unaware, Kathy had often shared her thoughts openly about dating younger men. She also admitted that such relationships easily get people's attention. Now, the latest viral moment once again placed her personal life under the spotlight.

Although the new viral photo was staged, Kathy had previously revealed that she had dated a 23-year-old man after her 2025 divorce. She opened up about it in a personal essay published in late 2025, in which she described how she unexpectedly fell in love with someone who was four decades younger than her.
Kathy explained that the relationship felt refreshing because her younger partner did not carry the same emotional baggage that she often felt with other men around her age. It made her feel appreciated, respected, funny and content.
However, despite the strong connection, she eventually ended it. The split came about after Kathy realised they were at completely different stages in their lives. In fact, the comedian admitted that she deserved a chance to experience life without being tied down by such a major age difference.
Inside Kathy Griffin's divorce from Randy Bick
Before again stepping into the dating world, Kathy Bick was married to Randy Bick. He was a marketing executive who was 18 years younger than her. They got married on New Year's Day in 2020 after spending many years together. Eventually, they finalised their divorce in January 2025.
Kathy cited "irreconcilable differences" in the divorce filing and later admitted that the breakup was emotionally one of the most difficult experiences of her life.
In fact, things became complicated after Randy left their shared home and stopped communicating with her. So, she was left with no option but to hire a private investigator to find and serve him the divorce papers. Kathy often shared about the emotional impact of the split and how it affected everything she overcame, including her battle with stage 1 lung cancer in 2021.
