Pete Davidson was born on November 16, 1993, in Staten Island, New York. He is an American comedian, actor, and writer best known for his role on Saturday Night Live (SNL). He rose to prominence with SNL for his relatively young age among the cast and his personal monologues. He also starred in independent comedies such as Big Time Adolescence and The King of Staten Island.
At the age of 7, Pete lost his father, Scott Matthew Davidson, who was a firefighter. Scott died while participating in the search and rescue efforts on September 11, 2001. In an interview, David shared that after his father’s death, it became very hard for him to trust people. In fact, according to him, the seeds of his mental illness might have also been sown by the death of his firefighter father.
It is worth mentioning that David has been very vocal about his mental health issues. In a 2018 interview, David revealed that he had been admitted to mental health facilities several times since he was 9 years old. In 2016, he began experiencing very strong emotions, particularly anger and rage. He also went through periods of severe depression. Later, in 2017, a therapist diagnosed him with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

While Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson’s relationship was short-lived, it was their significant age gap that became a talking point. For the uninitiated, Kate was 20 years older than Pete. Back in 2019, when they were dating, Kate was 45, while Pete was 25. However, the two were not bothered about it. During a weekend episode of SNL, David shared that people were concerned about their age gap. He said:
"Apparently people have a crazy fascination with our age difference. But it doesn’t really bother us. But then again, I’m new to this."
Kate and Pete first sparked dating rumors in January 2019, when they were seen cuddling at a Golden Globes afterparty. The former couple was spotted holding hands in public twice in the following weeks. On March 3, 2019, Kate and Pete were photographed locking lips at a New York Rangers game at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
But do you know that Kate’s ex-boyfriend, Matt Rife, warned Pete David about dating her? Yes, you read it right. In a 2019 interview with TMZ, Matt jokingly advised Pete to run away. He said:
"Man to man? Run. Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy. I hope that it can build to where it’s an established, good relationship. I wish them both the best. I hope they’re happy. I don’t really have any solid advice; just be careful."
Back in March 2019, a source told PEOPLE that Kate was very happy with SNL fame Pete. The insider shared that the duo had similar senses of humor and Kate was always laughing with him. At the time, Kate shared in an interview with Extra that she finds a man attractive if he is funny. However, in April 2019, Kate and Pete went their separate ways. Back then, a source told PEOPLE that the duo broke up due to long-distance. The insider added that the split was amicable.
