According to reports, Jessica Chastain's husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo grew up in Carbonera, Italy, about 20 minutes from Venice. At the age of 19, he moved to Milan to pursue his work in fashion. He revealed that he grew up with a really big family around him.
Interestingly, it seems that Gian’s family belonged to nobility that dates back many years. While the Italian aristocracy was officially dissolved in 1946, making their title of “count” null and void, his father is still known as Count Alberto Passi de Preposulo. During a 2017 appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Jessica had confirmed her husband’s noble background by saying, “My husband’s a count.”
It is worth mentioning that Gian does not care much when it comes to such technicalities. In an interview in 2009, he had confessed, “It's not the title that's important - you have to be a count inside yourself.”
Currently, Gian has established himself as a high-powered fashion executive, working for the luxury brand Moncler. Here, he reportedly handles outerwear and sportswear. Before landing his current job, Gian had worked in public relations for Armani. He had once even cited Giorgio Armani’s niece, Roberta Armani, as his mentor.
Aside from his work in fashion, Gian is the founder of Fiol, a prosecco business that he had started back in 2010 with his childhood pals. In a 2018 interview, he had explained that the drink was not only close to his heart; one could even say that it's in his blood. He was quoted as saying:
"We grew up surrounded by prosecco. The harvest was a very specific time of year for us...Every year, we would do the harvest with our parents and grandparents, and at the end, there was a big celebratory lunch and dinner with all of our family and friends—that was where I had my first prosecco tasting."
Coming to Gian's hobbies, he appears to be into extreme sports. This was evidenced by a photo that he posted of himself where he can be seen enduring extreme weather while climbing K2, the second-highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. He captioned the snap with his beard covered in snow and ice as “Proud of an amazing climbers team.”

During her interview on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Jessica had explained that she had just been nominated for an Oscar for her 2011 film, The Help. “The day that Gian Luca and I met was the day that I got nominated for an Oscar. It's like, probably the best day I ever had.”
The couple tied the knot on June 10, 2017. Their wedding guests included several recognisable faces from the entertainment industry, including Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt. While Jessica and Gian are extremely tight-lipped about their children, they reportedly welcomed their first child in 2018 via surrogate.
