The player in question was first baseman Jared Young, who was injured after his teammate, pitcher Nolan McLean, stepped on his head by mistake and tripped.
While McLean remained in the game at the discretion of interim manager Andy Green, fans were left really concerned for Jared's well-being. Amid this, the focus has shifted to his wife, Julia Ralston, who continues to stand by him in this tough time.
Meet Jared Young's wife, Julia Ralston
According to reports, Jared Young's wife, Julia Ralston, was born in April 1997 to Tim and Marie Ralston. Her father, Tim, served in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1985. In fact, he was even seen on the National Geographic Channel’s hit reality series called Doomsday Preppers. As of January 2024, Tim has been working as a realtor.
Jared’s wife, Julia Young, is one of three children. Growing up, Julia attended Desert Mountain High School, where she was on the women's varsity soccer team and played as a midfielder. She graduated from high school in 2015.
Following this, Julia studied at the University of Arizona, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in public health in 2019. During her university days, Julia participated in the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
A quick look at her LinkedIn profile reveals that Julia is currently working as a lead account executive at Mindbody. She has been in the role since August 2024. Prior to this, Julia worked as a senior sales specialist at the same company from September 2021 to August 2024. She also worked there as a sales specialist from September 2020 to September 2021.
Apart from her work in sales, Julia worked as a physical therapy technician at Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy in 2018. From May to July 2018, she also interned at the Red Suitcase Foundation in Scottsdale, Arizona. Before this, Julia volunteered with Girls on the Run International as a running buddy from April 2015 to April 2017. Furthermore, she worked as a marketing intern at EImage Agency from August 2014 to August 2015.
Coming to Julia Ralston’s relationship with Jared Young, the Mets player popped the question to her in November 2025. It was Julia’s father, Tim, who shared a number of pictures from the proposal on Facebook on November 19, 2025. Clearly excited for his daughter, Tim captioned the pictures, “She said yes! Thrilled for my daughter Julia and her fiancé Jared. Here's to a lifetime of happiness and adventures together! We love you both!”
One of the pictures showed Tim on his knee while Julia leaned in, seemingly gasping in surprise. Another photo showed Julia proudly showing off her beautiful engagement ring while her now-husband hugged her with the biggest smile on his face. A third photo showed Jared Young and Julia gazing into each other's eyes. As per reports, the couple tied the knot early this year on January 29, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

After what Mets interim manager Andy Green called a “terrifying moment” and “really scary collision,” players and staff joined on the field where Jared Young lay for several minutes. Later, Jared was taken off the field on a stretcher. He appeared to be alert as he managed to give the crowd a “thumbs up” signal. The Mets gave more insight into the situation by releasing a statement that read:
“Jared Young is being taken to hospital for further examination. He has feelings in his extremities. Additional updates will be provided when possible.”
Reportedly, Jared Young's CT scan came up “negative.” However, the baseball star had been experiencing “real concussion symptoms.”
