Emma Wehr shares a heartbreaking goodbye for her late husband
James Wehr's longtime partner and wife, Emma, broke her silence after his death. She shared a deeply personal message, which highlighted the love they shared during their time together. Alongside the emotional post, Emma shared their photos together and reflected on the pain of losing the love of her life. In her words:
"James, I never thought the day would come that I'd have to say such a final goodbye. Getting the opportunity to love you will always be the greatest blessing in my life."
Emma lived a private life, and the couple got married nearly a year ago. She described her husband as a "smart, kind, funny, loving, and genuinely one of the best people" she ever knew. Emma also cited the vows they exchanged during their wedding day and expressed gratitude at having the chance to share her life with him, even if it was cut tragically short. She ended the tribute with a touching message on social media that read:
"Whether it's in this lifetime or the next, my heart will always find its way to you."
For those who do not know, James Wehr passed away during the early hours of September 13, 2026. He died in a major single-vehicle crash involving a 2019 McLaren 720S. According to Irvine police, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light. But, eventually, it accelerated at a high rate of speed when the signal turned green. Investigators say that the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb, and slammed into a tree.
Meanwhile, the crash had a catastrophic impact as the supercar split into two pieces. In turn, it immediately burst into flames. The emergency responders came after a report of a vehicle fire, but both occupants inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Incidentally, James had reportedly shared a social media update nearly an hour before the crash. It showed a police cruiser behind his vehicle, which has taken on a new meaning after his death. However, the exact situations surrounding the crash are still being investigated.
James' mother, Sarah Wehr, also reflected on raising the son she described as a "magnificent man". Sarah emotionally recalled her son's birth in Perth, Australia, to his remarkable life in the U.S. Alongside, his sister also paid her tributes and wrote, "the best brother I could have asked for."
