According to reports, an elderly couple, Norman Greenberg, 97, and Sheila Greenberg, 85, sued Erik for elder abuse and fraud. The pair claimed that they suffered masive financial damages while working with the Princess Diaries star and Rosland Capital, which bought and sold precious metals. Amid the allegations, the focus has also shifted to Erik’s personal life, including his wife, Angela Von Detten.

Erik Von Detten's wife, Angela Von Detten, is a lively and fun-loving mom. She is pretty active on social media, sharing glimpses of her life on Instagram, where she boasts over 10.1k followers. While she does share pictures with Erik and her kids, the majority of her posts are about her work.
Angela reportedly works as a luxury real estate agent. Her feed also reveals that she is an avid food enthusiast and traveler. Her consistent content suggests that she is a strong woman who stays engaged with her audience.
A quick look at Angela’s LinkedIn profile shows that she is currently a real estate agent at Compass. She reportedly holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from UCLA. Based in Los Angeles, Angela brings a second-generation perspective to luxury real estate, coming from a family of property developers in Taiwan.
As for Angela and Erik Von Detten's relationship, the duo met for the first time in 2016 through mutual friends. As their bond deepened, Erik asked her out, and they got engaged in 2017, during the holiday season. Erik and Angela tied the knot around a year later, in August 2018, on Santa Catalina Island. They then went to Kauai in Hawaii for their honeymoon.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Claire Elizabeth, in 2019. Angela and Erik Von Detten welcomed their second child, a son named Thomas Henry, in 2021. The duo had another son named Nicholas in 2022.
Erik Von Detten is being sued for elder abuse
The elderly couple, Norman Greenberg and Sheila Greenberg, filed a lawsuit against Erik Von Detten and Rosland Capital. According to them, the organization, which went bankrupt just months after the lawsuit was filed, tends to exploit elderly citizens’ financial fears by selling them on the stability of gold.
The Greenbergs want to recoup the money they lost and also receive an additional sum for punitive damages. The same was revealed by documents obtained by media outlets on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The elderly couple revealed that they first contacted Rosland Capital back in 2020 after they saw a commercial. In subsequent phone calls with the duo, Erik Von Detten told them that he had special knowledge of gold and could help them with the USD 2 million in their retirement accounts.
Reports state that Norman and Sheila Greenberg spent approximately USD 1 million on two Lady Liberty gold coins. Erik spent another USD 1 million of their money on more gold coins. All of these coins were allegedly stored in a warehouse. Now, the elderly couple is claiming that they have spent around USD 2.1 million on coins which are allegedly worth no more than USD 1.3 million.
For the unversed, Erik Von Detten began working at Roseland Capital in 2018. This is the same year that he and Angela tied the knot. Apart from his work in the company, Erik took his first acting role in more than a decade in 2014 for the Lifetime movie My Acting Coach Nightmare.
