A family source of Duane Ollinger told TMZ that the Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch star died on June 2, 2026, at a Texas Hospital. According to the family source, Duane passed away after fighting a long battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a terminal neurological disease. At the beginning of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch Season 6, Duane fell ill and thus Josh Feldman and his father, Ron, took over as the lead.

Duane Ollinger’s obituary revealed, "It is with deep sadness that we remember Duane Ollinger, who has passed away in Amarillo, Texas. His death has left family, friends, and loved ones mourning the loss of a man remembered for his warmth, humour, and the meaningful connections he built throughout his life." Earlier, on June 3, 2026, Duane’s castmate, Ryan Skinner, penned a heartfelt tribute.  

Ryan wrote, "Sad to report that my good friend Duane Ollinger of Blind Frog Ranch passed away earlier today. Duane was a force of constant positivity, empathy, & encouragement to everyone. Whenever we talked, he would always say to hell with what anyone thinks, go out there and 'Tell your truth!'" Another comment can be read as: "This is heartbreaking news. Duane was the heart and soul of the show, and his grit and determination to uncover the ranch’s secrets made him so compelling to watch. He really seemed like a genuine, hard-working guy who threw everything into his passion. Sending thoughts to Chad and the rest of the Ollinger family. #BlindFrogRanch #DuaneOllinger."

According to Chad’s Discovery profile, he is a married man and has four children. According to TMZ, in November 2024, he was arrested after he drove his motorcycle through a stoplight in front of an unmarked police car and attempted to flee once officers tried to pull him over. In December 2025, Chad faced open murder charges after his cellmate was found dead inside their shared jail cell. At the time, the authorities said:

"On December 26, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., LVMPD Corrections Officers inside the Clark County Detention Centre were conducting routine checks when they observed a male inmate lying motionless inside a cell. Officers made an entry and observed that the inmate was suffering from apparent blunt force injuries. The other cellmate, who was identified as 41-year-old Chad Ollinger, was taken into custody."
