Hayley Erbert Hough was born on March 4, 1994, in Topeka, Kansas. She is a professional dancer who began moving to the beats at the mere age of 3. Since then, she has been trained extensively in a variety of dance styles, including ballroom, contemporary, jazz, and ballet. Hayley first rose to fame when she became a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance Season 19, earning a household name for her versatile dancing and captivating stage presence.

Soon after, Hayley Erbert gradually built herself a steady career in the tumultuous profession of dancing, especially after she joined Dancing with the Stars as a troupe member. Eventually, she began performing on major live tours and expanded her work to include music videos, live stage productions, and dance-focused projects. Over the years, Hayley has become a well-known, disciplined performer in the industry. 

Hayley Erbert has survived critical personal health struggles

Hayley Erbert's dancing has earned her fame nationwide, but challenges have often marked her path to success. Back in December 2013, just four months after tying the knot with Derek, she suffered a life-threatening cranial hematoma when she was on her husband's Symphony of Dance tour. Consequently, the 31-year-old underwent an emergency craniectomy followed by other surgeries. Derek himself later described her recovery as a 'miracle', and in late 2024, she made an emotional return performance, leaving everyone stunned.

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbet's love story began in 2014 when she was hired for Move Live on Tour featuring Derek and his sister, Julianne Hough. Soon, the professional collaboration paved the way for their personal bond, and they began quietly dating by 2015 while working on Dancing with the Stars. They kept their relationship private for nearly two years before making it Instagram-official in 2017. After seven years together, Derek proposed to Hayley in June 2022 with a romantic setup at their home, complete with roses and candles. Subsequently, they tied the knot on August 26, 2023, in a redwood forest in Monterey County, California.

Later in July 2025, the couple confirmed Hayley's pregnancy again, referring to their unborn child as their "rainbow" baby.
