Astros manager Joe Espada broke the news to reporters after an ankle issue had already kept Carlos on the sidelines this season.
For those unaware, Carlos underwent surgery on his left ankle in May 2026 and was initially given a return timeline of six to eight months. While there is no chance for Carlos to return before the postseason, it will give him some much-needed time to relax with his wife, Daniella Rodriguez, and the rest of their family.

Carlos Correa had made a name for himself in the sports world. Meanwhile, his wife, Daniella Rodriguez, is a renowned beauty queen. She has been in the spotlight long before she met her now-husband, Carlos. It was in 2013 when Daniella won her first pageant, Miss Texas Teen. At the time, she was only 17 years old.
A few years later, Daniella participated in the 2016 Miss Texas USA, where she managed to bag the title of Miss Texas USA at the age of 19. Her wit and smart answers made her a deserving candidate for the crown. In the same year, Daniella also competed for the Miss USA title in the pageant, which was held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but she fell short of winning it.
In her Miss USA pageant video, Daniella opened up about how her Mexican descent and living in the Lone Star State played a significant role in helping her connect with her culture. She said:
“I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas, which is right across the border. And I got the best of both worlds when it comes to living the American way but still having Mexican culture [in my life].”
Despite not winning the title of Miss USA, Daniella still had the opportunity to make her first pitch during a Houston Astros game. At the time, many fans made fun of her, calling her out for a not-so-great first pitch. However, Daniella paid no heed to the hate and jokingly wrote on Instagram, “When you swear you can pitch like one of the players, but you end up blowing the first pitch,” followed by a laughing and baseball emoji.
Apart from being a pageant queen, Daniella Rodriguez has quite a few achievements to her name. She founded her own cosmetic company called Sweet D in 2021. The brand is known for selling cruelty-free, paraben-free, and vegan cosmetic products.
She also appears to have a passion for teaching, having earned a degree in the same field, along with early childhood development, from Texas A&M University. Additionally, as a hobby, Daniella has often spoken about her love for shooting. During an interview, she revealed that she got into it thanks to her father and her brother. She also admitted that she wasn't as good at hunting as they were because she couldn't remain quiet. Daniella shared:
“I got into shooting because of my dad and my brother. My dad used to always go hunting, but I wasn’t good at it because you have to be extremely quiet while you’re there. I’m not your girl for that. I was always talking, so we ended up just going to the ranch, shooting bottles.”

Daniella and Carlos met around the same time that she made her first pitch for the Houston Astros game. As their bond deepened off-field, the duo went public by posting a picture that they took together while attending a Kanye West concert. Within a year, the baseball player proposed to Daniella on the same ground where they first met.
Daniella and Carlos tied the knot on December 7, 2019. The couple welcomed their first son, Kylo Daniel, in November 2019, and their second child, Kenzo, in March 2023.
