"I will never forget my father’s identity in my life. My father was a good man, a good actor. He made mistakes; he had regrets. But today, I have come to build the good side of my own life."
Sohini Paul has still not moved on and misses her dad, Tapas Paul
Back in June 2025, Sohini took to her Instagram handle to pen a heart-wrenching note for her father. She admitted that she has not really moved on and is carrying his memories with her. She shared that she can’t forget Father's Day. It is worth mentioning that Sohini took a break from acting back in 2020 when Tapas passed away. In an interview, Sohini revealed that she was in Mumbai at that time.

Earlier, this year, in March 2026, Sohini shared an emotional note for her father, Tapas Paul. In the note, Sohini mentioned that life is not the same without him. She added that no one loved and cared about her just like he did. Sohini stated that her father had set the bar high. Her heartfelt note can be read as:
"Hyan Baba, shuncho… life just isn’t the same without you. No one loved as you did. No one cared as you did. You set the bar high, spoiled me for anything but all-out effort. I’d give anything to hear your voice again, but I hope you catch my daily thoughts to you. Five years on, and you’re still with me in every way that matters."
On February 18, 2024, Sohini took to her Instagram handle to pen a heart-wrenching note. She recalled Tapas’ health condition before he died. Tapas Paul died at 61 following a cardiac arrest. She mentioned how the medical attendants told her and her mom to move outside so that they could continue with the treatment. According to reports, Tapas was admitted to a hospital in Juhu after he complained of feeling chest pain at the Mumbai airport while travelling. An excerpt from Sohini’s note can be read as:
"The way you left was just a reason, an excuse for you to pass. That’s what 4 years have done. Brought about acceptance of your passing. But the gaping void and pain-it’s there. It’s made its place & I’ve made my peace with it. Pain is sure insurmountable, but so is the love left behind."
