Alex crossed paths with his ladylove, Emma, at a drama school. The pair’s romance didn’t blossom immediately. Emma fell in love with Alex when the former attended one of Hassell’s productions with his theatre company, Factory. Alex and his now-wife, Emma, worked on several projects, including Royal Shakespeare Company productions and an instalment of Cowboy Bebop. During an interview with Square Mile, Alex gave a rare glimpse into their love story.

During the interview, Alex shared that both he and Emma asked for each other’s phone numbers from the same person. Alex said, "She came to see a Factory show, and we both asked for each other's number from the same person." Alex and Emma tied the knot in January 2011. The couple had an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and relatives. On their 10th wedding anniversary, Emma took to her Instagram and shared a carousel featuring some wholesome moments. Along with the love-filled snaps, The Vanishing actress penned a heartfelt note. She wrote:

"Happy anniversary, @alexanderhassell. I never knew it was possible to feel this loved or to love this much. I don't always know what I'm doing but I know I couldn't do it without you."

Alex Hassell hails from Southend, England. He comes from a family of six. Alex grew up with his three older siblings. He began acting in 2001. He is best known for the hit series, Rivals. His longest association with a TV series, Cowboy Bebop, brought him widespread acclaim. He bagged his first Hollywood role in 2017, starring opposite Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac in the black comedy, Suburbicon.

According to a report by The Standard, Alex was chosen out of 600 actors to play 'Rupert Campbell-Black' in the series, Rivals. However, Alex never thought that anybody would consider him a macho man. He was bullied in school as he was emotional and loved drama.
