Alexandra Cooper, popularly known as Alex Cooper, is a popular podcaster who co-created and hosts Call Her Daddy. Earning 20 million USD made her Spotify’s highest-earning female podcaster. Alex is currently leading the headlines after she announced her pregnancy with her husband, Matt Kaplan. Just like Alex, her husband, Matt, too, is a popular name.

Who is Alex Cooper’s husband, Matt Kaplan?

Born in Los Angeles, Matthew Kaplan is an American film producer, known for producing young adult films, including the To All the Boys film series. The successful CEO attended Columbia University and was passionate about football and films since his time in school. In Columbia University, Matt was a quarterback in their team, the Columbia Lions.

Matt went on to work as an assistant at Lionsgate and then at Blumhouse. Matt’s big break was at Awesomeness Films, where he produced To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. He is the founder of the production company, Ace Entertainment. He produced films like Before I Fall and The Lazarus Effect. Not just this, Matt and Alex have also launched their own media company called Unwell, focused on Gen Z audiences. 

How did Matt Kaplan and Alex Cooper meet?

Alex and Matt met for the first time in 2020 over a Zoom call during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was immediately attracted to Matt because she found him very handsome. Alex was meeting with Matt's production company, Ace Productions, to discuss a collaboration on a television show. Though there were other people in the call, she kept staring at Matt’s video square.

After her Zoom call with Matt, Alex decided to take their relationship on a romantic route. The couple began dating in July 2020. She kept Matt’s identity concealed for three years and didn’t tell anyone that they were dating. In February 2021, Alex Cooper confirmed that they were officially dating in a YouTube video titled I HAVE A BOYFRIEND..., though she still kept his name under wraps.

It was in March 2023 that Matt decided to propose to Alex. She thought there was a photoshoot at her home, so she went out to get ready. When Alex arrived at her residence, she found it decorated with candles and music playing. Matt also set up a scavenger hunt to lead Alex to her ring. She found him outside, wearing the same outfit as in their first Zoom meeting in 2020. Matt proposed to Alex with a 5-carat, vintage oval-cut diamond by jewellery designer Jenna Blake.

He also surprised her by flying in her closest friends and family for a celebratory dinner. After a month of the proposal, Alex introduced her fiancé, Matt Kaplan, to the public on April 24, 2023, through an interview with W Magazine. Describing her feelings back then and explaining her decision to keep the details private for some time, she stated:

"It was truly the best moment of my life. It was such an incredible moment...So happy that I kept it [the moment] for myself and my family and my friends."

Alex Cooper embraces motherhood

After a dreamy proposal, Matt Kaplan and Alex Cooper got married in April 2024, in an intimate, multi-day wedding celebration at a beachside setting in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Speaking about the wedding, Alex told Vogue:

“It was everything we wanted it to be. It was emotional, heartfelt, and we tailored it to exactly how we always envisioned it.”

After two years of marriage, Alex and Matt are all set to embrace parenthood as they are expecting their first baby. To announce the news of their pregnancy, Alex took to her Instagram and shared two photos of her and her husband, Matt. In the pictures, the parents-to-be seemed lost in each other’s gaze, and Matt adored Alex’s slightly grown baby bump. Sharing the snaps, Alex wrote, "Our Family."
