However, it was the divorce news from her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya that had left her millions of fans heartbroken.
After dating for eight years, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had tied the knot with Naga Chaitanya on October 6, 2017. But before they could step into their 4th wedding year, the couple had called it quits and had issued a statement on their respective social media handles. The note could be read as:
"To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. An old conversation of Samantha Ruth Prabhu had gone viral on social media platforms, where the actress had talked about childbirth. Amidst her divorce news, a rumour that she might have never wanted kids was buzzing. However, in the video, Samantha had spoken about how childbirth is the most painful procedure. She could be heard saying in the clip:
"Actually women are very, very, very strong. Child birth… the most painful procedure is giving birth. Can you believe it? Not any operation… in the doctors' room, the most painful procedure is giving birth. And mother is the only person who as soon as after the most painful procedure will smile looking at her baby."
Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a very interactive person and loves to communicate with her fans through Q&A sessions or live sessions. Every now and then, she shares pictures from her daily life to keep her followers updated. In one such Ask Me Anything session, one of her fans had asked about her pregnancy, and the actress had the right answer to reply. Samantha had taken to her IG handle and had given a befitting response:
"For all those interested in the functioning of my body, I'm gonna have a baby on August 7th, 7 am, Twenty Twenty two (2022)."

In one of the old interviews, Samantha had opened up about her and Naga Chaitanya's family planning. Talking about the same, the Super Deluxe actress had mentioned:
“I have put a date as to when I want my baby. The date has been fixed! Like, as if that’s going to happen according to the date we have fixed! But Chay (Naga Chaitanya) seems to be certain that it will happen on the assigned date!”
