Since her first appearance in the song, 'Chaiyaa Chaiyaa' from the film, Dil Se, along with Shah Rukh Khan, Malaika has gained much popularity.
For the unversed, she was married to Salman Khan's brother, Arbaaz Khan, for 19 years, and in 2017, she had announced her divorce from her then-husband, Arbaaz. She had got heavily trolled and was linked to Bollywood actor, Arjun Kapoor. Later, she had shared the news of her being in love with Arjun, and now they are in a steady relationship.

But, apart from being a fashionista, Malaika has won our hearts with her amazing dancing skills. And especially, her 'Munni Badnaam' song from Dabangg, featuring Salman Khan had hit millions of views. However, after this, she had to face a lot of criticism. People had thought that her being a family member of the Khan clan had given her the advantage of being a name in Bollywood.
In an old interview with Hindustan Times, in 2008, the actress had lashed out when Rakhi Sawant had made a nasty comment about her career. Rakhi had said that Malaika isn't called an 'item girl' because of being a family member of Salman Khan. The actress had said:
"In that case I should be in every Salman film and in every special appearance song he does. He hasn't made me, I'm a self-made woman."

Malaika had featured in Salman Khan's Kaante, Dabangg and Dabangg 2, with her popular dance numbers and was later tagged as an 'item girl'. But, Malaika's 'Munni Badnaam' has etched a special place in everyone's hearts. Well, let bygones be bygone, as Malaika is happy with her beau, Arjun Kapoor, and Arbaaz is currently dating Giorgia Andriani. And, Malaika and Arbaaz still maintain a cordial relationship with each other.
On the professional front, Malaika Arora can now be seen as the judge in the dance reality show, India's Best Dancer, along with Geeta Kapoor and Terence Lewis.
