The Bachchans are the most respected family in the Indian cinema. It was in 1973 when the Shehanshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, tied the knot with the Bengali beauty, Jaya Bachchan. They welcomed their first child, Shweta Bachchan, in 1974 and completed their family with the arrival of their son, Abhishek Bachchan, in 1976.
The Bachchan clan often shares anecdotes from their life, and in a throwback interview, Jaya confessed how Shweta was a difficult child and would often get beaten by her. Once Amitabh, Jaya, Shweta and Abhishek graced Simi Garewal’s chat show, Rendezvous With Simi Garewal. During the interview, Shweta confessed to Jaya's partiality towards Abhishek. Jaya denied the same and stated that she often says the same.

At this point, Simi played an old clip of Jaya and Amitabh, where the actress herself claimed that she whacked Shweta more as she was a difficult child. Revealing the reason behind the same, Jaya said that Shweta would answer her back. In her words:
“He was naughty but he was not a brat. Shweta was very, very difficult with me. She thought she could talk (back) to me. Sometimes its the weakness of the parent."

When the power siblings Abhishek and Shweta graced the couch at Karan Johar’s show, Koffee With Karan season 6, they revealed many family secrets and inside jokes. On the same show, junior Bachchan confessed that their father, Amitabh Bachchan is more fond of Shweta as compared to him. And Shweta had revealed how their mother, Jaya Bachchan’s favourite child, has always been Abhishek.

In an interview with Barkha Dutt, Shweta opened up about her daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda and her mother, Jaya Bachchan. Talking about them, she pointed out that her daughter is a lot like her mother. Elaborating more on it, Shweta mentioned various common points between the nani-poti duo. She stated that Navya has a conviction and passion about things, just like her nani. Shweta also said that, unlike her, Navya is comfortable going on stage and talking about things she believes in.
Shweta Bachchan is an author cum designer, who is married to business tycoon, Nikhil Nanda, and the couple has two adorable kids, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda.
