Rudy Giuliani, America's much-admired mayor, is currently in a critical condition, as shared by his spokesperson. Rudy Giuliani became New York mayor in 1994 and served through 2001, including the September 11 terrorist attack, which brought tragedy to the city.

He also became a personal lawyer to President Donald Trump, and was part of several investigations. Rudy Giuliani supported Donald Trump's claims that he won the 2020 election, not Joe Biden, for which he was sued. It was after this incident that he was disbarred. Well, it was in the last year when he faced a car accident.

'America's Mayor', i.e. former NYC mayor, Rudy Giuliani is in a critical condition

On May 4, 2026, his spokesperson, Ted Goodman, took to his social media handle and revealed that Rudy Giuliani is in a critical but stable condition at a hospital. Goodman didn't release any further details about Rudy Giuliani's health; however, in his note, it is added that Rudy, who has been known for his strength, is currently fighting as well. Goodman also asked people to pray for 'America's Mayor' Rudy Giuliani. His statement could be read as:

"Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he's fighting with that same level of strength as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America's Mayor-Rudy Giuliani."

Donald Trump's statement on Rudy Giuliani's hospitalisation and critical condition

The reason for Rudy Giuliani's hospitalisation isn't known as of now. President Donald Trump also took to his social media handle and reacted to Rudy Giuliani's critical condition. Giuliani became one of Trump's closest allies during the 2020 elections. Rudy's spokesperson didn't reveal how long he has been in the hospital or any further details. However, Donald Trump, in a Truth Social Post, mentioned that Giuliani is in a critical condition, and it's just sad to witness this. He added that Giuliani was right above all and treated badly. He could be quoted as saying:

"Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition. What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!"

Rudy Giuliani's last video before hospitalisation surfaces

Before the update about his health, Rudy Giuliani reportedly hosted his online show America’s Mayor Live broadcast from Palm Beach, Florida, on May 1, 2026. While being on the show, in the first few moments, reportedly, his voice started to strain, and he also addressed the same, stating his voice was a bit under the weather, and thus he won't be able to speak loudly, but he would 'come near the mic'. No sooner did the video surface on social media, following the report about his hospitalisation, than social media users and his followers noticed that he was not in his best of health.

Rudy Giuliani's previous health issues

To mention, it was last year, when Rudy was seriously injured in a car accident. This incident happened shortly after Rudy stopped assisting a woman in a domestic violence case. The accident had major effects on Rudy, including a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg. It was in 2000 when Rudy was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was during a routine checkup that he was diagnosed, and he instead chose surgery; he opted for radiation therapy and radioactive seed implantation. His father had also died from prostate cancer. Well, reportedly, after five years of the diagnosis, he was cancer-free.
