What caused Melanie Watson's death? 

According to TMZ, Melanie Watson's brother, Robert, confirmed that she was hospitalised for some time due to certain health complications related to internal bleeding. Although doctors made every possible effort to stabilise her condition, her death continued to decline, eventually leading to her death. Melanie's brother added that doctors highlighted how the actress had lived a remarkable life of 57 years, despite suffering from her lifelong medical condition, and had exceeded expectations. 

For those unaware, Melanie was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a commonly known brittle bone disease. The genetic disorder causes the actress to have extremely fragile bones, leading to frequent fractures. The health condition shaped a large part of Melanie's life as she had no other option but to use a wheelchair since childhood to support her body. But neither the condition nor the wheelchair could deter her extraordinarily strong spirit. Robert mentioned how her death was emotional heartbreaking for him, but he was proud of how his sister managed to defy the odds for decades.

Melanie Watson's family played a central role in her life. Especially her brother, Robert, was the primary voice who confirmed her death and informed the world about her brave fight to live, honouring her memory. She was once married to Robert (Roger Bernhardt) in 1994, but their marriage lasted only two years, and they parted ways.
