It was on October 5, 2023, when Vishal Bharadwaj’s Khufiya was released on Netflix, and it instantly received rave reviews. While the direction and story were on point, Wamiqa stole the show despite Tabu’s flawless performance in the film. The young actress was first seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film, Jab We Met (2007), in which she played the role of Geet’s (Kareena Kapoor Khan) sister. In 2009, Wamiqa Gabbi once again worked with Imtiaz Ali in the film, Love Aaj Kal, which helped her grab the attention of many Bollywood directors. With two big movies, Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal in her kitty, the stunning actress got to work in films like Mausam, Bittoo Boss, and Sixteen. However, Wamiqa got a major opportunity in Punjabi cinema when she was approached by renowned filmmaker, Amit Prasher.

The filmmaker, Amit Prasher signed Wamiqa Gabbi for the film, Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, and it starred Yo Yo Honey Singh and Amrinder Gill. After which, she worked in a couple of Punjabi films like Ishq Brandy, Nikka Zaildar 2, Parahuna, and many more. Wamiqa was also featured in a series of music videos.

Some of the popular songs she worked on are the likes of Ishq Hazir Hai, Manak di Kali, 100 Percent, Kade Kade, Tere Laare, and many more. Amidst all the hype she was receiving in the Punjabi industry, she moved to the South Indian film industry, too and worked in three films, Bhale Manchi Roju, Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam, Godha, and Nine.

The web series just exploded Wamiqa’s presence across the internet. After which, she went on to work in web series like Mai: A Mother's Rage, Modern Love: Mumbai, Jubilee, and Modern Love Chennai.
