‘Baadshah of Bollywood’, aka Shah Rukh Khan’s popularity is not bounded by any geographical boundaries. The actor, who debuted in the entertainment industry in the late 1980s, still continues to rule the hearts of millions across the world. His latest releases, Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, reinstated him as one of the biggest film stars in Indian cinema in 2023. While SRK had a very humble beginning, his stardom expanded with the passage of time. In his personal life, the actor is married to the love of his life, Gauri Khan and the couple has three children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam.
Recently, renowned film producer, Vivek Vaswani, who played an impactful role in shaping SRK’s career at the beginning, shared various anecdotes about his bond with the global superstar. During an interaction with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, the producer revealed that he had not met SRK for the last four years. Vivek said that the two have not talked in these years, let alone met. He shared the reason behind the same and said:
“We don’t have a relationship. We don’t talk. We don’t meet, but when we do, it’s as if the years were not there. I am not a suburbanite. I am a teacher. I am the dean of a school. I work 18 hours a day. I travel by bus, local train, and Shah Rukh is a superstar.”

For those who don’t know, Vivek Vaswani even let Shah Rukh stay at his house when the latter was still struggling in the initial days of his career. In the same interaction, the film producer shared that he still remains fond of SRK to this day. He also revealed his wish to work with King Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, who recently debuted with The Archies. Vivek said:
“I think Suhana has tremendous potential, more than any other actress. I don’t think Shah Rukh Khan would say no. Why should he? If I was good for him, I am good enough for his daughter.”
Vivek Vaswani later recalled the last time he met with Shah Rukh Khan was, in fact, on the actor’s birthday. SRK invited the film producer to Mannat to celebrate his birthday in 2019. Vivek mentioned that the actor wanted him to meet his children. The producer said:
“I went to his birthday party four years ago. He told me specifically, ‘Sir, aa jao, bachchon se milvana chahta hoon. I had great fun at the party. When we meet, we are very good.”

During the same conversation, Siddharth Kannan asked why SRK did not call the film producer during these four years. To this, Vivek Vaswani said that Shah Rukh carries 17 phone numbers, and he only had one of his numbers. He further added that once he had called SRK, he did not pick up, and when the actor had called Vivek, he could not receive it either. Vivek said:
“He (SRK) has 17 phones, and I have one number. If he picks it up, only then can I talk. I called him after Jawan, but he didn’t pick up. When I was in the shower, he called, which I didn’t pick up. He is travelling all the time. He also has responsibilities. He runs an empire, so I am okay.”
